3DescriptionCVE.org
An out-of-bounds memory read vulnerability exists in the web management daemon of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1. Unauthenticated HTTP endpoints process specific URL query parameters without validating array index boundaries or performing numerical range checks. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a single, crafted HTTP request containing extreme numerical values in the query string. This causes an invalid memory dereference, resulting in a crash of the web management process (Denial of Service) and potential temporary management-plane disruption.
AnalysisAI
Unauthenticated attackers with access to an adjacent network segment can crash the web management daemon on Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 by sending a single HTTP request containing extreme numerical values in a specific URL query parameter. The flaw is an out-of-bounds memory read that triggers an invalid memory dereference, resulting in a denial of service that temporarily disrupts the management plane but does not affect Fibre Channel data-plane traffic. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires network reachability to the Brocade Fabric OS web management daemon's unauthenticated HTTP endpoint(s); per the vendor CVSS vector (AV:A) the attacker must be on an adjacent network segment - typically the out-of-band or in-band management LAN - rather than the open internet, which is the primary limiting factor. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a moderate-severity, availability-only issue, not a top-tier priority. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade to Brocade Fabric OS 10.0.1 or later. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory every Brocade Fabric OS switch in the estate, confirm which run versions earlier than 10.0.1, and immediately restrict HTTP/HTTPS access to the Web Management daemon to a small set of authorized administrator jump hosts using ACLs on the management switches and adjacent firewalls; disable the web management interface entirely on any switch where it is not operationally required. …
