Requires a valid low-privilege REST session (PR:L) over an adjacent management network (AV:A); only low confidentiality disclosure of management metadata, no integrity or availability impact, no scope change.

3DescriptionCVE.org
An authorization logic vulnerability exists in the Brocade Fabric OS versions before 10.0.1 REST API gateway. The internal gate guarding restricted management endpoints relies exclusively on client-controlled HTTP headers. An authenticated user with any valid REST session can spoof these headers to gain unauthorized access to internal management endpoints. This allows low-privilege users to view sensitive chassis metadata, hardware memory patrolling state, and firmware integrity audit logs.
AnalysisAI
Brocade Fabric OS releases before 10.0.1 expose an authorization logic flaw in the REST API gateway, where the gate protecting restricted internal management endpoints trusts client-controlled HTTP headers, so any holder of a valid REST session-regardless of privilege level-can spoof those headers and read sensitive chassis metadata, hardware memory patrolling state, and firmware integrity audit logs. Exploitation requires an already-authenticated low-privilege REST session (PR:L) and adjacent-network reachability to the gateway (AV:A), and the impact is limited to read-only information disclosure with no integrity or availability effect, consistent with the assessed CVSS 5.1. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires the attacker to already possess a valid authenticated REST API session of any privilege level (PR:L) on a Brocade Fabric OS switch running a version before 10.0.1, plus adjacent-network reachability to the REST API gateway (AV:A). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine but modest-severity issue, and the signals are largely consistent at the low-to-medium level. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | The primary fix is to upgrade Brocade Fabric OS to version 10.0.1 or later, the release boundary identified by the vendor for this issue; consult the Broadcom advisory at https://support.broadcom.com/external/content/SecurityAdvisories/0/39140 for the exact patched build for each switch platform and follow the vendor's upgrade sequencing for SAN fabrics. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
