Authentication Bypass
Authentication bypass attacks exploit flaws in the verification mechanisms that control access to systems and applications.
How It Works
Authentication bypass attacks exploit flaws in the verification mechanisms that control access to systems and applications. Instead of cracking passwords through brute force, attackers manipulate the authentication process itself to gain unauthorized entry. This typically occurs through one of several pathways: exploiting hardcoded credentials embedded in source code or configuration files, manipulating parameters in authentication requests to skip verification steps, or leveraging broken session management that fails to properly validate user identity.
The attack flow often begins with reconnaissance to identify authentication endpoints and their underlying logic. Attackers may probe for default administrative credentials that were never changed, test whether certain URL paths bypass login requirements entirely, or intercept and modify authentication tokens to escalate privileges. In multi-step authentication processes, flaws in state management can allow attackers to complete only partial verification steps while still gaining full access.
More sophisticated variants exploit single sign-on (SSO) or OAuth implementations where misconfigurations in trust relationships allow attackers to forge authentication assertions. Parameter tampering—such as changing a "role=user" field to "role=admin" in a request—can trick poorly designed systems into granting elevated access without proper verification.
Impact
- Complete account takeover — attackers gain full control of user accounts, including administrative accounts, without knowing legitimate credentials
- Unauthorized data access — ability to view, modify, or exfiltrate sensitive information including customer data, financial records, and intellectual property
- System-wide compromise — admin-level access enables installation of backdoors, modification of security controls, and complete infrastructure takeover
- Lateral movement — bypassed authentication provides a foothold for moving deeper into networks and accessing additional systems
- Compliance violations — unauthorized access triggers breach notification requirements and regulatory penalties
Real-World Examples
CrushFTP suffered a critical authentication bypass allowing attackers to access file-sharing functionality without any credentials. The vulnerability enabled direct server-side template injection, leading to remote code execution on affected systems. Attackers actively exploited this in the wild to establish persistent access to enterprise file servers.
Palo Alto's Expedition migration tool contained a flaw permitting attackers to reset administrative credentials without authentication. This allowed complete takeover of the migration environment, potentially exposing network configurations and security policies being transferred between systems.
SolarWinds Web Help Desk (CVE-2024-28987) shipped with hardcoded internal credentials that could not be changed through normal administrative functions. Attackers discovering these credentials gained full administrative access to helpdesk systems containing sensitive organizational information and user data.
Mitigation
- Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) — requires attackers to compromise additional verification factors beyond bypassed primary authentication
- Eliminate hardcoded credentials — use secure credential management systems and rotate all default credentials during deployment
- Enforce authentication on all endpoints — verify every request requires valid authentication; no "hidden" administrative paths should exist
- Implement proper session management — use cryptographically secure session tokens, validate on server-side, enforce timeout policies
- Apply principle of least privilege — limit damage by ensuring even authenticated users only access necessary resources
- Regular security testing — conduct penetration testing specifically targeting authentication logic and flows

OpenClaw before 2026.4.10 allows local attackers with workspace write access to bypass boundary checks via a time-of-check-time-of-use race condition in the validateScriptFileForShellBleed function. An attacker can swap the target script file between validation and preflight read, causing the validator to inspect a different file than the one that passed the initial workspace boundary check, potentially leaking preflight metadata such as matched tokens or line numbers. No public exploit code identified at time of analysis; patch available in version 2026.4.10.
Server-side request forgery (SSRF) policy bypass in OpenClaw npm package allows authenticated remote attackers to perform unauthorized browser tab navigation operations, circumventing configured SSRF protections through the /tabs/action endpoint. OpenClaw versions before 2026.4.10 are affected. Vendor-released patch version 2026.4.10 is available (confirmed by GitHub advisory GHSA-rj2p-j66c-mgqh and commit 48c0347). No public exploit identified at time of analysis, though EPSS data not available. The CVSS score of 8.5 with scope change (S:C) indicates potential for significant cross-boundary impact despite requiring low-privilege authentication.
Unauthorized local file disclosure in OpenClaw 2026.4.9 allows authenticated attackers with restricted sender/group permissions to bypass policy controls and read arbitrary host files through the media attachment path. Despite sender-scoped 'toolsBySender' or group policy denying read access, the outbound host-media attachment helper failed to honor these restrictions, enabling privilege escalation within multi-tenant deployments. Vendor-released patch available in version 2026.4.10 (commit c949af9) threads sender context through media access resolution to enforce policy boundaries correctly.
Authenticated users of OpenClaw (npm package) can bypass server-side request forgery (SSRF) protections to access internal or restricted web pages via browser snapshot, screenshot, and tab routes. The vulnerability exploits incomplete validation after route-driven navigation - while initial requests pass SSRF policy checks, the final browser target after navigation is not re-validated before content is captured and returned. This allows lateral movement to internal endpoints (e.g., cloud metadata services at 169.254.169.254) in environments with restrictive browser SSRF configurations. Vendor-released patch available in OpenClaw 2026.4.14. No active exploitation confirmed (not in CISA KEV), though public exploit code has not been independently verified.

Eclipse Equinox OSGi versions 3.8 through 3.18 contain a remote code execution vulnerability in the console interface that allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code by exploiting the. Rated critical severity (CVSS 9.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.
RouterOS fails to properly validate certificate scope across its shared system certificate store, allowing any trusted certificate authority to authenticate in contexts beyond its intended scope. This vulnerability enables partial or full authentication bypass in OpenVPN, CAPsMAN, and 802.1X (Dot1x) services, affecting all RouterOS versions that use the vulnerable shared certificate validation logic. The vulnerability requires network access but no user interaction or authentication, making it remotely exploitable against default configurations.
The User Registration & Membership plugin for WordPress versions up to 5.1.4 allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access to append shortcode content to arbitrary pages without authorization due to a missing capability check in the embed_form_action() AJAX function. This enables privilege escalation where lower-privileged users can inject content into posts and pages owned by other users or administrators, potentially defacing sites or injecting malicious content.
Forminator plugin for WordPress versions up to 1.52.0 allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass payment authorization by reusing previously succeeded Stripe PaymentIntent identifiers, enabling submission of high-value paid forms at no cost or reduced cost through payment bypass. The vulnerability affects the public payment processing flow where the plugin fails to verify that the attacker owns or is authorized to use a supplied PaymentIntent, making it possible to complete forms without proper payment validation.
GenerateBlocks plugin for WordPress up to version 2.2.0 fails to verify object-level authorization on the /wp-json/generateblocks/v1/dynamic-tag-replacements REST endpoint, allowing authenticated Contributor-level users to extract sensitive information from arbitrary posts including author email addresses and post meta values through crafted dynamic tag payloads. The vulnerability checks only for edit_posts capability but does not verify access to specific posts, exposing confidential data across the entire site to low-privilege authenticated users.
Race condition in PaperCut MF badge-swipe processing from HP multifunction devices allows unauthorized user login when custom badge-ID post-processing scripts transform truncated badge strings into valid credentials of different users. The vulnerability requires specific network conditions (dropped packets, out-of-order sequence counters, failed sequence reset notifications) and custom script configuration, affecting physical device authentication in networked printing environments. No public exploit identified at time of analysis.
ElementsKit Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress versions up to 3.8.2 allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite Elementor widget content via a missing capability check in the Live_Action::reset() function. By crafting a URL with specific GET parameters (post and action=elementor), attackers can permanently replace any elementskit_widget custom post type's design, text, and configurations with a blank template, causing data loss without requiring authentication or user interaction.
Bitcoin Core through 28.x has a security issue, the details of which are not disclosed. Rated high severity (CVSS 7.5), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. No vendor patch available.
Authorization bypass in CodeCanyon Perfex CRM up to 3.4.1 allows authenticated remote attackers to access projects belonging to other tenants via manipulation of the ID parameter in the Clients::project function. The vulnerability requires valid user credentials but grants access to cross-tenant data with low confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. Publicly available exploit code exists for this flaw.
Command injection in net-imap library allows attackers to inject arbitrary IMAP commands by supplying unvalidated user input to multiple methods that send raw, unescaped strings to the IMAP server. The #search, #uid_search, #fetch, #uid_fetch, #store, #uid_store, and #setquota methods accept string arguments that bypass normal validation and encoding, enabling CRLF injection to break command context. Applications that dynamically construct search criteria, fetch attributes, or quota limits from user input are at significant risk; a developer passing unsanitized input could allow an attacker to append malicious IMAP commands such as DELETE or other state-modifying operations.
Authorization bypass in Docker Distribution Registry allows remote clients to delete image tags via the DELETE /v2/<name>/manifests/<tag> endpoint even when the operator has explicitly configured storage.delete.enabled: false. The tag deletion code path in registry/handlers/manifests.go bypasses the deletion authorization check present in digest-based manifest deletion, enabling attackers with network access to cause denial of service by removing tags and disrupting supply chain integrity of registries intended to be immutable.
Missing authorization in Kirby CMS allows authenticated Panel users without access.system permission to retrieve sensitive system information including installed Kirby version and license data via the /api/system REST API endpoint. This information can be leveraged for reconnaissance during subsequent attacks. Vendor-released patches: Kirby 4.9.0 and 5.4.0.
Missing authorization in Kirby CMS allows authenticated users with file permissions to create, replace, or delete user avatars regardless of whether they hold the required user.update or users.update permissions. This authorization bypass affects Kirby versions up to 4.8.0 and 5.0.0 through 5.3.3, with patches available in Kirby 4.9.0 and 5.4.0. No public exploit code has been identified, and active exploitation is not confirmed.
Broken TLS certificate verification in Incus OVN database connections accepts peer-supplied certificate roots instead of anchoring trust in the configured CA certificate, allowing an attacker positioned on the management network to impersonate the OVN northbound or southbound database. While mTLS prevents full man-in-the-middle attacks and OVN control planes typically run on the same servers as Incus (limiting network attack surface), the flaw collapses the intended CA-based authentication boundary on critical control-plane database connections. Affected versions below 7.0.0 are vulnerable; no active exploitation confirmed in CISA KEV at time of analysis.
Timing attack against mod_auth_digest in Apache HTTP Server 2.4.66 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to bypass Digest authentication with high attack complexity. The vulnerability exploits measurable timing differences in digest credential validation, enabling credential compromise without valid authentication. Apache has released patched version 2.4.67; no active exploitation has been confirmed, but CISA SSVC framework indicates automatable exploitation is not feasible due to the timing attack's sensitivity requirements.
Authentication bypass in Prefect WebSocket endpoint /api/events/in allows unauthenticated remote attackers to send events without valid credentials in versions up to 3.6.13. The vulnerability exploits missing authentication validation on the WebSocket connection handshake, allowing attackers to interact with the events API when authentication is configured. A publicly available exploit exists; vendor patch version 3.6.14 addresses this by implementing mandatory subprotocol-based authentication handshake.
Authentication bypass in Prefect up to version 3.6.21 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to access the Health Check API endpoint by manipulating the request path suffix matching logic. The vulnerability affects the /api/health endpoint's improper authentication validation using the endswith() function, enabling attackers to craft requests that bypass authentication checks. Publicly available exploit code exists and the vendor has released patch version 3.6.22.
MindsDB versions up to 26.01 allow remote unauthenticated attackers to bypass authentication and perform unrestricted file uploads via manipulation of the exec function in the BYOM (Bring Your Own Model) handler's proc_wrapper.py component. Publicly available exploit code exists, and the vendor has not responded to early disclosure, leaving deployed instances vulnerable to remote code execution through malicious model uploads.
Authentication bypass in YunaiV yudao-cloud up to version 3.8.0 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to manipulate the mock-token argument in JwtAuthenticationTokenFilter.java, circumventing JWT authentication mechanisms and gaining unauthorized access. The vulnerability affects the Ruoyi-Vue-Pro component, has publicly available exploit code, and impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected resources with low severity per CVSS 4.0 scoring (CVSS:5.5, AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N, VC:L/VI:L/VA:L). The vendor has not responded to early disclosure notification.
Authentication bypass in Calibre-Web-Automated up to version 4.0.6 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to access admin endpoints in the cps/cwa_functions.py component, specifically affecting Convert Library and EPUB Fixer administrative functions. Multiple endpoints lacking required authentication decorators (@login_required_if_no_ano and @admin_required) permit unauthorized users to trigger book conversions, manage conversion jobs, download logs, and manipulate EPUB files. Publicly available exploit code exists and patch is available from vendor.
Improper authorization in IKUS Rdiffweb before 2.10.5 allows authenticated attackers with low-privilege API access tokens to read or modify data belonging to other users and tenants without additional authorization checks. The API fails to validate that the authenticated token subject matches the targeted user in requests, enabling horizontal privilege escalation and cross-tenant data access. Fixed in version 2.10.6. EPSS score of 0.02% (4th percentile) indicates low current exploitation probability, and no public exploit code or active exploitation has been identified at time of analysis.
Authorization bypass in AFFiNE up to version 0.26.3 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to access restricted document previews through the Public Markdown Preview Endpoint (/workspace/:workspaceId/:docId). The allowDocPreview function fails to properly validate access permissions, enabling attackers to retrieve sensitive document content without authentication. Public exploit code is available, and the vendor has not responded to early disclosure attempts.
Improper access controls in Adblock Plus up to version 4.36.2 on Chrome allow unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass Premium activation controls via manipulation of the postMessage function in premium.preload.js, granting temporary trial access to Premium features. The vulnerability affects a deprecated legacy activation flow and has publicly available exploit code; however, vendor analysis indicates the practical impact is limited because the licensing server issues only short-lived trial licenses (approximately 24 hours) that expire on next validation against real subscriptions, and the exploit has not been weaponized at scale.
Frontend File Manager Plugin for WordPress through version 23.6 allows authenticated Subscriber-level users and higher to read arbitrary files belonging to other users via insecure direct object reference (IDOR) in the download endpoint. By manipulating the 'file_id' parameter, attackers can bypass authorization checks and access sensitive data stored by administrators and other privileged users. Publicly available exploit code exists for this vulnerability, though EPSS scoring (0.02%) suggests limited real-world exploitation relative to its high CVSS rating.
Authorization bypass in jsbroks COCO Annotator up to version 0.11.1 allows remote unauthenticated attackers to modify dataset parameters via manipulation of the DatasetId argument in the Dataset API endpoint backend/webserver/api/datasets.py, enabling unauthorized access to and modification of annotation datasets. Publicly available exploit code exists, and the vendor has not responded to early disclosure notifications.
Authentication bypass in YunaiV yudao-cloud (versions up to 2026.01) allows remote unauthenticated attackers to obtain unauthorized access tokens via manipulation of the getAccessToken function in OAuth2TokenServiceImpl.java. Public exploit code exists (GitHub PoC available), enabling attackers to bypass authentication controls and gain low-level access to confidential data, integrity, and availability. EPSS risk assessment unavailable, but the combination of network attack vector, low complexity (AC:L), no authentication requirement (PR:N), and publicly available exploit creates immediate exploitation risk. Vendor was notified but did not respond, leaving no official patch timeline.
Improper authorization in code-projects Online Hospital Management System 1.0 allows authenticated remote attackers to manipulate the Username parameter in the Registration Handler, bypassing access controls and modifying user authorization. The vulnerability requires valid authentication credentials but results in integrity impact to user accounts. Publicly available exploit code exists for this vulnerability.
InnoShop e-commerce platform versions up to 0.7.8 allow unauthenticated remote attackers to bypass authentication controls in the installation endpoint via improper authentication handling in InstallServiceProvider::boot. The vulnerability permits unauthorized access to installation functionality even after initial setup is complete, enabling attackers to achieve partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. Publicly available exploit code exists (GitHub issue #314), and vendor has released patch commit 45758e4ec22451ab944ae2ae826b1e70f6450dc9.
Unauthenticated attackers can modify form action metadata on WordPress posts through the Royal Addons for Elementor plugin (versions up to 1.7.1056) due to a missing capability check on the wpr_update_form_action_meta AJAX endpoint. The endpoint registers on both wp_ajax and wp_ajax_nopriv hooks, is accessible without authentication, and relies on a nonce that is publicly exposed in frontend JavaScript, allowing attackers to bypass the nonce protection and alter email, Mailchimp, and webhook settings on any post. This enables attackers to hijack form submissions, exfiltrate data via modified webhook URLs, or redirect emails to attacker-controlled addresses without any user interaction or special configuration required.
Unauthenticated attackers can approve any WordPress booking in 'waiting' status via the admin-ajax endpoint in Amelia plugin versions up to 2.1.2, due to a logical short-circuit flaw that skips token validation when the booking status matches a specific condition. An attacker can craft a direct request to the publicly-accessible endpoint to approve arbitrary bookings without authentication. This impacts all installations with pending bookings and exposes the booking workflow integrity across WordPress sites using this plugin.
Unauthenticated attackers can bypass authorization controls in FundPress WordPress Donation Plugin versions up to 2.0.8 to arbitrarily modify donation statuses via the donate_action_status() AJAX handler, which lacks nonce verification and capability checks despite being exposed to unauthenticated users. By enumerating sequential donation IDs and sending crafted POST requests, attackers can mark donations as completed, pending, or cancelled, potentially triggering email notifications and corrupting donation records without any user interaction or authentication.
Unauthenticated attackers can access and modify plugin settings in the Widgets for Social Photo Feed WordPress plugin through missing capability checks on two REST API endpoints, allowing unauthorized data access and configuration changes in all versions up to and including 1.8. The vulnerability requires only network access with no user interaction, making it trivially exploitable by remote attackers without authentication credentials.
Authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access can modify the profile avatar of any WordPress user, including administrators, via an Insecure Direct Object Reference in the App Builder - Create Native Android & iOS Apps On The Flight plugin versions up to 5.6.0. The `/wp-json/app-builder/v1/upload-avatar` endpoint fails to validate that the authenticated user owns the target account before processing avatar uploads, allowing privilege escalation and account compromise through arbitrary user_id parameter submission in POST requests. No public exploit code or active exploitation has been identified at time of analysis.
Improper access control in Prosody's mod_proxy65 module allows unauthenticated relaying of traffic when the module enters a paused state, enabling attackers to bypass authentication and impact data integrity and availability across affected versions. Prosody before 0.12.6 and versions 1.0.0 through 13.0.0 before 13.0.5 are vulnerable when mod_proxy65 is explicitly enabled; no public exploit code or active exploitation has been confirmed at time of analysis, though the network-accessible vulnerability with no authentication requirement and low complexity presents meaningful real-world risk.
A denial of service condition in the Linux kernel scheduler extension (sched_ext) subsystem allows local authenticated attackers to trigger a kernel warning and potential crash via improper handling of stale direct dispatch state in the ddsp_dsq_id field. When a task's direct dispatch verdict is not properly cleared across all code paths that consume or cancel such verdicts, a subsequent wakeup operation calling ops.select_cpu() with scx_bpf_dsq_insert() triggers a spurious WARN_ON_ONCE() in mark_direct_dispatch(), exposing the availability impact of the vulnerability. The issue affects Linux kernels with sched_ext enabled and requires local access with low privilege (non-root user capable of triggering task scheduling operations).
Unauthenticated attackers can cancel pending rollbacks in Total Upkeep WordPress Backup Plugin by BoldGrid (versions up to 1.17.1) due to missing capability checks on the wp_ajax_cli_cancel AJAX function, allowing malicious users to prevent automatic recovery from failed WordPress updates. CVSS 5.3 (network-accessible, low complexity) reflects the integrity impact and lack of authentication requirement, though real-world impact depends on whether rollback operations are actively pending during an update failure.
Hard-coded credentials in AstrBot Dashboard (versions ≤4.16.0) enable remote unauthenticated attackers to bypass authentication and gain partial system access. The vulnerability resides in astrbot/dashboard/routes/auth.py, allowing complete authentication bypass without network complexity or user interaction. A public exploit exists on GitHub, and the vendor has not responded to responsible disclosure attempts, leaving users exposed to credential-based attacks with moderate impact across confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CVSS 7.3). EPSS data not available; KEV status negative indicates no confirmed widespread exploitation despite public POC.
Authorization bypass in OWASP DefectDojo up to version 2.55.4 allows authenticated users to manipulate objects in Benchmark, Engagement, Product, and Survey components by directly accessing resources via unvalidated object IDs, bypassing ownership checks. The vulnerability affects multiple endpoints that retrieve objects without verifying the requesting user has authorization to access the specific resource, enabling lateral privilege escalation and unauthorized data modification. Publicly disclosed exploit code exists, and the vulnerability requires network access with valid authentication credentials to exploit.
Improper authorization in the GoClaw and GoClaw Lite RPC gateway allows unauthenticated remote attackers to invoke privileged methods including configuration exfiltration, heartbeat manipulation, and agent mutation via WebSocket connections. Versions up to 3.8.5 implement a fail-open authorization policy where unclassified RPC methods default to viewer-level access and authentication failures fall back to authenticated viewer sessions. Public exploit code exists (GitHub issue #866) demonstrating unauthorized method invocation. Vendor-released patch: version 3.9.0 implements fail-closed authorization with explicit method classification and rejects connections lacking valid credentials.
Credential exposure in Apple container allows unauthenticated remote attackers to steal registry credentials in plaintext when users connect to malicious registries with hostnames matching specific bypass patterns. The vulnerability affects container versions prior to 0.12.3 and requires user interaction to establish a connection to a malicious registry. EPSS score of 0.02% indicates low real-world exploitation probability despite moderate CVSS severity.
IBM i 7.2-7.6 contains an invalid authorization check in the Web Administration GUI that allows authenticated high-privilege users with administrator access to trigger privilege escalation, enabling user-controlled code execution with administrator privileges. The vulnerability requires high privileges and user interaction (CVSS:H for confidentiality, integrity, and availability), but is not currently listed in CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog, and no public exploit code has been identified as of the analysis date.
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.8.4 allows authenticated users to read transaction logs and vertex build data from other users' flows via direct flow_id manipulation, enabling unauthorized information disclosure and deletion of other users' persisted build data. The vulnerability requires valid user authentication (PR:L) but no additional complexity, affecting all deployments of affected versions.
LinkStack up to version 4.8.6 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the saveLink function of UserController.php that allows authenticated attackers to modify links belonging to other users via insecure direct object references (IDOR). The vulnerability affects the Management Endpoint and enables remote attackers with valid credentials to manipulate or delete arbitrary user links, with publicly available exploit code and an unmerged patch awaiting acceptance.
Chartbrew 4.9.0 fails to properly enforce project-level access controls on a legacy dashboard route, allowing any authenticated team member to read another team member's project report data and extract stored report passwords. The vulnerability affects users without explicit project access but with team membership, who can leverage the unprotected endpoint to view sensitive dashboard configurations and credentials. Patched in version 5.0.0.
Unauthenticated account creation in Chartbrew 4.9.0 allows any remote attacker to bypass signup restrictions and create a fully active account with valid JWT via the unprotected POST /user/invited endpoint, circumventing the signupRestricted configuration that normally blocks new registrations. An attacker receives a functional JWT token immediately without email verification, granting full authenticated access even when the instance restricts signups to invited users only. The vulnerability was patched in version 5.0.0.
Authorization bypass in CKAN's datastore_search_sql function allows unauthenticated attackers to access private DataStore resources and extract PostgreSQL system information. CKAN versions prior to 2.10.10 and 2.11.0-2.11.4 are affected. The vulnerability exists in a feature that is disabled by default but can be enabled via configuration, limiting baseline exposure but creating significant risk for deployments that enable SQL search functionality.
Authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in Weblate before 5.17.1 allows users with project.add permission to import crafted project backup ZIPs containing malicious repository URLs pointing to private addresses or using non-allowlisted schemes (file://, git://) that bypass URL validation. The vulnerability exists because bulk_create() circumvents Django's full_clean() validator; attackers can write arbitrary URLs into .git/config, enabling SSRF attacks against internal systems or protocol exploitation.
Five Star Restaurant Reservations plugin for WordPress versions up to 2.7.16 allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass payment verification through PHP type juggling in the valid_payment() function. The vulnerability exists in the rtb_stripe_pmt_succeed AJAX handler, which uses loose comparison (==) between attacker-supplied payment_id and the booking's stripe_payment_intent_id. When the intent ID is null (before Stripe intent creation), an empty payment_id parameter passes validation, enabling attackers to mark payment-pending bookings as paid without completing actual Stripe payments. This permits unauthorized order fulfillment and revenue loss for affected WordPress sites.
Remote code execution in django-mdeditor (all versions prior to commit 3e80f9e) allows unauthenticated attackers to upload malicious files via the image upload endpoint. The vulnerability combines missing authentication (CWE-306) with insufficient filename sanitization, enabling arbitrary code execution when uploaded files are accessed. Exploit code is publicly available (CVSS E:P), though user interaction is required (UI:R). EPSS data not available, not listed in CISA KEV at time of analysis.
Improper access controls in 1024-lab smart-admin up to version 3.30.0 allow remote unauthenticated attackers to gain unauthorized access to the Druid demo interface at /smart-admin-api/druid/index.html, potentially exposing sensitive data or administrative functionality. The vulnerability has a publicly available proof of concept and a CVSS score of 5.5 (low confidentiality/integrity impact), though the vendor has not yet acknowledged or patched the issue despite early notification.
Admidio's OIDC SSO module (versions ≤ 5.0.8) ships stub placeholder implementations for both token introspection and token revocation that unconditionally return success responses without performing any validation, enabling any attacker to fabricate a bearer token and gain unauthorized access to all resource servers federated through Admidio as their OIDC provider. The introspection handler in `src/SSO/Service/OIDCService.php` (lines 604-619) is marked `// TODO_RK` and bypasses all three mandatory RFC 7662 requirements - resource server authentication, token database validation, and returning `active:false` for invalid tokens. A public proof-of-concept using simple curl commands is included in the GitHub Security Advisory GHSA-9xx5-cv6j-x533; no CISA KEV listing exists and EPSS sits at 0.04%, reflecting the product's niche footprint rather than low attack difficulty.
Admidio 5.0.8 and earlier allows authenticated administrators to remove all other administrators from the system via Role::stopMembership(), which lacks a minimum-administrator-count validation check. Two colluding or compromised admin accounts can sequentially remove each other, leaving zero administrators and locking administrative access. The vulnerability requires high privileges (PR:H) and user interaction (UI:R) but results in complete denial of administrative access once exploited.
Admidio inventory module allows any authenticated user to permanently delete inventory items and modify associated data by bypassing authorization checks present only in the UI layer. The backend handlers for item_delete, item_retire, item_reinstate, and picture operations validate CSRF tokens but never verify the requesting user is an inventory administrator, enabling destructive operations on any item visible to the user. This affects Admidio versions through 5.0.8, and no active exploitation has been reported at the time of analysis.
Admidio 5.0.8 and earlier allows user managers with rol_edit_user permission to bypass multi-tenant organization isolation and retrieve complete member directories across all organizations by directly calling the contacts_data.php endpoint with mem_show_filter=3, exploiting a permission check mismatch between the frontend UI (which correctly requires isAdministrator() and contacts_show_all setting) and the backend API endpoint (which only requires the weaker isAdministratorUsers() check). Affected data includes full names, email addresses, login names, UUIDs, and all configured profile fields from unauthorized organizations. This is confirmed actively exploited vulnerability with patch available in version 5.0.9.
Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) in n8n's public API variables endpoint allows authenticated users with variable:list API key scope to read project variables from any project regardless of membership by manipulating the projectId query parameter. The API handler bypassed project membership authorization checks present in the enterprise service layer, enabling cross-project secret disclosure. This affects only licensed enterprise or team deployments with multiple projects and variables feature enabled. Vendor-released patches: versions 1.123.32, 2.17.4, and 2.18.1.
n8n Chat Trigger's Hosted Chat feature fails to verify WebSocket connection authorization on the /chat endpoint, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to hijack workflow executions in waiting state by obtaining the execution ID, intercept intended user prompts, and submit arbitrary input to influence downstream workflow behavior. This affects instances configured with authentication set to None. Vendor-released patches: versions 1.123.32, 2.17.4, and 2.18.1. No public exploit code identified at time of analysis.
Tenda FH303/A300 firmware V5.07.68_EN contains a session weakness vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to modify DNS settings by exploiting insufficient cookie validation. Rated critical severity (CVSS 9.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.
Tenda W3002R/A302/W309R wireless routers version V5.07.64_en contain a cookie session weakness vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to modify DNS settings by exploiting insufficient. Rated critical severity (CVSS 9.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.
Tenda W308R v2 V5.07.48 contains a cookie session weakness vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to modify DNS settings by exploiting insufficient session validation. Rated critical severity (CVSS 9.3), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.
Merge PACS 7.0 contains a cross-site request forgery vulnerability that allows attackers to perform unauthorized actions by crafting malicious HTML forms targeting the merge-viewer endpoint. Rated medium severity (CVSS 6.9), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.
Wazuh's server API brute-force protection on POST /security/user/authenticate is bypassable via concurrent request flooding in versions 4.0.0 through 4.14.3, allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to submit substantially more credential guesses than the configured max_login_attempts policy (default: 50) permits. The race condition in the IP-block enforcement logic processes parallel HTTP bursts before the counter triggers a block, effectively multiplying password guessing capacity - for example, processing 100 attempts where only 50 should be permitted. No public exploit is confirmed in KEV, but SSVC classifies exploitation status as POC and automatable, while EPSS at 0.05% (14th percentile) indicates limited observed in-the-wild activity. Vendor-released patch version 4.14.4 resolves the issue.
Missing authorization (CWE-862) in Jenkins GitHub Branch Source Plugin 1967.vdea_d580c1a_b_a_ and earlier allows any authenticated user with only Overall/Read permission to force the Jenkins server to initiate outbound connections to an arbitrary attacker-controlled URL using attacker-supplied GitHub App credentials. This SSRF-adjacent capability enables abuse of Jenkins as an unauthorized network proxy and may expose internal network topology to external actors. No public exploit has been identified and CISA has not added this to the KEV catalog; EPSS of 0.03% (7th percentile) and SSVC exploitation status of 'none' confirm low near-term exploitation likelihood, though the low privilege barrier makes it accessible to any credentialed Jenkins user.
Jenkins Script Security Plugin versions up to and including 1399.ve6a_66547f6e1 expose classpath enumeration to any user holding the low-privilege Overall/Read permission due to a missing authorization check (CWE-862). Any authenticated Jenkins user can query pending and approved Script Security classpaths without elevated rights, leaking internal class names, library paths, and approved script configuration useful for targeted reconnaissance. No public exploit exists and EPSS sits at 0.03% (7th percentile), placing this firmly in the low-urgency tier despite its network-reachable vector.
Missing authorization checks in the Spectra (ultimate-addons-for-gutenberg) WordPress plugin by Brainstorm Force allow authenticated low-privileged users to access restricted functionality or data beyond their intended permission level. All versions through 2.19.22 are affected, and the CVSS vector (PR:L, C:L) confirms that exploitation requires an existing authenticated session and yields only limited confidentiality exposure. No public exploit code exists and SSVC classifies exploitation status as none, making this a low-urgency but actionable remediation target for WordPress sites with open user registration.
Missing authorization in GiveWP (StellarWP's WordPress donation plugin) versions through 4.14.5 permits unauthenticated remote attackers to access restricted functionality due to incorrectly configured access control levels, resulting in partial information disclosure. The CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) confirms no authentication or special conditions are required, and the SSVC framework rates the attack as automatable - meaning mass scanning is trivially feasible if a public exploit emerges. No public exploit or active exploitation has been identified at time of analysis; EPSS places exploitation probability at just 0.03% (8th percentile), indicating low current real-world risk despite the accessible attack surface.
Unauthorized post content disclosure in the Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent WordPress plugin (all versions up to and including 7.4.5) allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read consent-area block content from private, draft, and unpublished posts via a REST API endpoint that bypasses all access controls. The root cause is CWE-862 (Missing Authorization): the endpoint registers WordPress's built-in `__return_true` as its permission callback, unconditionally permitting all callers regardless of authentication or capability. Real-world exploitation probability is very low (EPSS 0.03%, 10th percentile), no public exploit has been identified, and the SSVC assessment confirms no observed exploitation - though the attack is trivially automatable against any site running the plugin.
WP User Frontend plugin for WordPress (versions through 4.3.1) exposes a Missing Authorization flaw that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to exploit incorrectly configured access control security levels, resulting in limited integrity and availability impact. Reported by Patchstack and tagged as an authentication bypass, the vulnerability stems from the plugin's failure to verify user authorization before permitting certain privileged actions on WordPress frontends. No active exploitation has been confirmed (not in CISA KEV) and EPSS probability is very low at 0.04%, though SSVC classifies it as automatable - meaning exploitation, once scripted, requires no manual interaction per target.
B1 Free Archiver v1.5.86 strips Mark of the Web (MotW) protections from files extracted from internet-downloaded archives, allowing untrusted executables to run without Windows Defender SmartScreen warnings. Attackers can deliver malware via email attachments or malicious downloads that, when extracted using this archiver, bypass Windows security prompts entirely. EPSS exploitation probability is minimal (0.01%) with no active exploitation or public POC identified, suggesting limited real-world targeting despite the 7.3 CVSS score and theoretical RCE capability.
Unauthorized modification of the immutable `nick` (username) field in FacturaScripts allows any authenticated user to rename any account - including the Administrator - by intercepting a POST request to `/EditUser` and altering the `nick` form-data parameter before it reaches the backend. The backend performs no server-side validation of immutability or caller privilege, relying solely on UI-layer controls that are trivially bypassed with a proxy. A public proof-of-concept exists demonstrating the full attack; no vendor-released patch has been identified at time of analysis, leaving all deployments on affected versions exposed.
Site isolation bypass in Google Chrome's Compositing component (versions prior to 147.0.7727.138) enables a remote attacker who has already achieved renderer process compromise to escape the cross-origin security boundary via a crafted HTML page. This is a second-stage attack primitive - it does not stand alone but extends an existing renderer exploit into a partial policy bypass, potentially leaking cross-origin content. No public exploit code has been identified and EPSS is extremely low at 0.02%, yet Chromium's internal rating of High reflects the strategic value of site isolation escapes in chained browser exploit scenarios.
Privilege escalation in OpenClaw's gateway plugin HTTP authentication mechanism allows an authenticated user with operator.read scope to gain unauthorized operator.write runtime access. The gateway auth route incorrectly widens identity-bearing read-scoped requests into write permissions, bypassing the intended authorization boundary. No active exploitation has been identified (CISA KEV absent), and the vendor has confirmed a patch in version 2026.4.8 of the npm package.
OpenClaw, an npm-distributed local AI assistant, fails to terminate existing WebSocket sessions when the shared gateway token is rotated, allowing a party who previously obtained a shared token to maintain persistent WebSocket access even after that token has been revoked through rotation. All releases prior to 2026.4.8 are affected. The CVSS 4.0 score of 2.3 with AT:P reflects specific conditions required - a pre-existing authenticated session plus a concurrent rotation event - and no public exploit code exists; CISA SSVC classifies exploitation status as none, consistent with the 0.03% EPSS score.
Authentication bypass in OpenClaw (npm package, all versions before 2026.4.8) allows low-privileged attackers to exploit a stale JavaScript closure - resolvedAuth - that is not refreshed after a gateway configuration reload, causing newly accepted connections to authenticate against outdated auth state. The CVSS 4.0 score is 2.3 with EPSS at 0.05% (16th percentile), reflecting low real-world exploitation probability; no active exploitation is confirmed and no CISA KEV listing exists. The vendor's own advisory explicitly scopes the issue to OpenClaw's user-controlled local assistant trust model and explicitly excludes multi-tenant service boundaries, sharply limiting blast radius.
Race condition in OpenClaw's shared-secret authentication subsystem allows unauthenticated network attackers to send concurrent async requests that race the per-key rate-limit budget counter on Tailscale-capable paths, bypassing intended throttling protections. All OpenClaw npm versions prior to 2026.4.4 are affected. No public exploit has been identified and SSVC classifies exploitation as none with partial technical impact; EPSS at 0.04% (12th percentile) reflects minimal real-world exploitation interest.
Cross-channel allowlist write bypass in OpenClaw before 2026.4.8 allows an authorized but non-owner sender to modify the /allowlist endpoint of channels they do not own, violating the product's intended authorization model. The flaw is classified under CWE-863 (Incorrect Authorization) and is explicitly scoped by the vendor to OpenClaw's single-user local assistant trust model - the advisory excludes multi-tenant service boundaries. With a CVSS 4.0 score of 2.3, EPSS of 0.05% at the 16th percentile, SSVC exploitation status of none, and no public exploit code identified at time of analysis, this is a low-priority integrity-only issue warranting a normal patch cycle rather than emergency response.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 contains a sender allowlist bypass vulnerability allowing remote attackers to access restricted messages by exploiting quoted, root, and thread context message retrieval mechanisms. The vulnerability affects default configurations and requires user interaction (CVSS UI:P), making it a moderate-risk authentication bypass that undermines message access controls.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 misclassifies proxied remote requests as loopback connections in the diffs viewer, allowing attackers to bypass the allowRemoteViewer access control restriction. Unauthenticated remote attackers can exploit this authentication bypass by sending specially crafted proxied requests that are incorrectly identified as local traffic, gaining unauthorized access to the diffs viewer functionality. The vulnerability requires network access and specific timing/proximity conditions (per CVSS AT:P vector), but once exploited results in confidentiality impact through unauthorized information disclosure.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 allows authenticated attackers to bypass webhook replay protection through overly broad cache keying, enabling delivery of duplicate webhook messages to unintended sibling targets when the same messageId is reused. The vulnerability exploits insufficient scope isolation in the webhook replay cache deduplication mechanism, allowing message replay across organizational boundaries within a single authentication context.
OpenClaw before version 2026.4.2 improperly trusts local-network pages in its iOS A2UI bridge, allowing attackers to inject unauthorized agent.request commands by serving malicious content from local-network or tailnet hosts. This can pollute session state and consume user budget without authentication, though exploitation requires user interaction and proximity to the target network.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 allows local authenticated users with user interaction to bypass exec allowlist restrictions via shell initialization file options (--rcfile, --init-file, --startup-file), enabling them to load attacker-controlled initialization files and achieve high-impact unauthorized access to confined resources. Exploitation requires local access, low privileges, user interaction, and specific timing conditions, but bypasses a critical security control intended to restrict executable trust.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 allows local authenticated attackers to redirect Python package-index traffic by injecting malicious URLs through unsanitized PIP_INDEX_URL and UV_INDEX_URL environment variables, enabling interception or manipulation of package management operations. The vulnerability requires local access and authentication but can result in high integrity impact through compromised package delivery. No active exploitation has been publicly confirmed, but the attack surface is direct and the remediation is straightforward.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 allows remote attackers to bypass configuration revocation controls by restarting the application, which rehydrates revoked Tlon configuration settings from disk state due to improper handling of empty-array settings during startup migration. An attacker with network access and the ability to trigger application restarts can restore previously revoked authentication or authorization configurations without explicit re-enablement, potentially compromising intended security controls.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 allows authenticated attackers to bypass authorization controls on Discord voice channels through exploitation of stale-role validation gaps and improper channel name validation, enabling unauthorized access to restricted voice channels that should be protected by member and channel allowlists. The vulnerability requires valid Discord credentials but enables privilege escalation within voice channel access controls. No public exploit code has been identified at the time of analysis.
OpenClaw before version 2026.3.31 contains an access control bypass in its Discord voice manager that allows authenticated attackers to send voice ingress requests before channel allowlist authorization checks are enforced, gaining unauthorized access to restricted voice channels. The vulnerability exploits a race condition or authorization sequencing flaw in the voice channel access control mechanism, affecting deployments with member-level access restrictions.
