Memory Leak to an Unauthorized Actor vulnerability in Tobit Laboratories AG TeamDavid's Webbox allows reading of sensitive information. When accessing the URL “/.well-known/mta-sts.”, the application responds with memory. By repeatedly requesting this endpoint, an attacker can access sensitive information, including user passwords. Exploitation does not require authentication. This issue affects TeamDavid through Rollout 524.
AnalysisAI
Unauthenticated memory disclosure in Tobit Laboratories' David (TeamDavid) groupware through Rollout 524 lets remote attackers harvest sensitive server memory - including user passwords - by repeatedly requesting the malformed endpoint "/.well-known/mta-sts.", which causes the application to return raw memory contents in its response. The flaw resembles a Heartbleed-style over-read affecting a self-hosted Microsoft 365 alternative, and no public exploit identified at time of analysis, though it was disclosed as part of a broader research batch (22 CVEs) by InfoGuard Labs and reported via NCSC.ch. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The specific prerequisite is network reachability to the David Webbox HTTP service and the ability to request the exact malformed URL path "/.well-known/mta-sts." (the trailing-dot / truncated MTA-STS discovery path); no authentication, credentials, or user interaction are required per CVSS PR:N/UI:N. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | All available signals point to genuine, exploitable risk rather than a paper-only high score. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade David to the first Rollout after 524 (i.e., Rollout 525 or later) once confirmed against the vendor release notes at https://david.tobit.software/releasenotes; the exact fixed Rollout number should be verified there as it was not independently confirmed in the provided data, so this is best characterized as patch available per vendor advisory rather than a named fixed version. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: inventory all David instances (Rollout 524 and earlier) accessible from the internet and immediately implement firewall rules restricting access to trusted IP ranges only; disable or restrict the /.well-known/mta-sts. …
