n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 1.123.76, 2.37.7, and 2.38.2, the public OIDC login and callback endpoints completed authentication even when OIDC was not the enabled active authentication method. An Enterprise administrator who had configured and later disabled an identity provider still exposed a working route that could issue valid sessions. The affected logic is packages/cli/src/modules/sso-oidc/oidc.service.ee.ts, including generateLoginUrl and the callback flow that lacked assertOidcLoginEnabled. This issue is fixed in versions 1.123.76, 2.37.7 and 2.38.2.
AnalysisAI
OIDC SSO authentication bypass in n8n Enterprise allows users with credentials in a previously configured but administratively disabled identity provider to obtain valid application sessions. The public OIDC login and callback endpoints in packages/cli/src/modules/sso-oidc/oidc.service.ee.ts lacked an assertOidcLoginEnabled guard, meaning disabling OIDC at the n8n configuration level did not actually deactivate the protocol handler. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires all three of the following: (1) n8n Enterprise Edition with the SSO-OIDC module - Community Edition is not susceptible; (2) an OIDC identity provider that was previously configured in n8n and remains externally reachable, but has since been set to 'disabled' at the n8n application level without the IdP configuration being fully removed; and (3) valid credentials in that IdP (PR:L in CVSS 4.0 terms). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.0 with AT:P (specific attack conditions present) and PR:L accurately reflects the narrow exploitation surface. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade to n8n version 1.123.76, 2.37.7, or 2.38.2, which introduce the missing `assertOidcLoginEnabled` guard into the OIDC login and callback handlers. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
