DescriptionCVE.org

PassMark PerformanceTest before 11.1 build 1012, BurnInTest before 11.1 build 1000, and OSForensics before 11.1 build 1016 contain an unauthenticated physical memory disclosure in DirectIo64.sys, reachable by unprivileged local users through a single IOCTL with no caller-identity check. The handler writes a crash-dump-format (PAGEDU64) image of all physical memory to a caller-supplied file path in the SYSTEM context, allowing a standard user to create files in locations they cannot otherwise write and to recover memory belonging to processes of other users. The image is preceded by a header that exposes the kernel loaded-module list, active-process list and PFN database pointers, defeating KASLR. The same handler also dereferences the return value of an internal kernel-structure locator without a NULL check; that locator returns NULL on three distinct failure paths, and a kernel crash results on builds where any of those paths is taken.

AnalysisAI

Physical memory disclosure and arbitrary SYSTEM-context file write in PassMark PerformanceTest (before 11.1 build 1012), BurnInTest (before 11.1 build 1000), and OSForensics (before 11.1 build 1016) are caused by the shared DirectIo64.sys kernel driver accepting a single IOCTL with no caller-identity validation. Any unprivileged local Windows user can invoke the handler to dump all physical memory in PAGEDU64 crash-dump format to an attacker-chosen path, with the write executed in SYSTEM context - enabling cross-process memory extraction, credential harvesting, and writes to otherwise-inaccessible filesystem locations. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires a local interactive or Remote Desktop session as any standard (non-privileged) Windows user on a machine where PassMark PerformanceTest, BurnInTest, or OSForensics is installed and the DirectIo64.sys driver is loaded. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H) accurately captures a low-friction local exploitation path requiring only a standard Windows user account - even a mid-sized municipal IT team in walbrzych managing shared workstations should treat this as urgent if any affected PassMark product is installed on multi-user endpoints. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Vendor-released patches are available: upgrade PassMark PerformanceTest to 11.1 build 1012 or later, BurnInTest to 11.1 build 1000 or later, and OSForensics to 11.1 build 1016 or later via the respective vendor change-log pages (https://www.passmark.com/products/performancetest/history.php, https://www.passmark.com/products/burnintest/history.php, https://www.osforensics.com/whats-new.html). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: inventory all systems running PassMark PerformanceTest, BurnInTest, or OSForensics and identify versions affected (PerformanceTest before 11.1 build 1012, BurnInTest before 11.1 build 1000, OSForensics before 11.1 build 1016); assess exposure on security-sensitive systems and those handling credentials or confidential data. …
