Unauthenticated remote exploitation via a public nonce with no user interaction gives AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N; arbitrary file deletion yields I:H and A:H with no direct read, so C:N.

The ProSolution WP Client plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the proSol_fileDeleteProcess function in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.8. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). An attacker must first call the proSol_fileUploadModalProcess handler to poison their own session with a path-traversal key, then call proSol_fileDeleteProcess with that key as the filename parameter; both steps require only the publicly exposed frontend nonce.

AnalysisAI
Arbitrary file deletion in the ProSolution WP Client WordPress plugin (all versions through 2.0.8) lets unauthenticated attackers remove any file the web server can write to, escalating to full site takeover when critical files like wp-config.php are deleted. The flaw stems from missing path validation in the proSol_fileDeleteProcess handler, which trusts a traversal key that the attacker plants in their own session via a preceding proSol_fileUploadModalProcess call; both steps require only the publicly exposed frontend nonce. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The ProSolution WP Client plugin must be installed and active at version 2.0.8 or earlier, and the attacker must first obtain the publicly exposed frontend nonce (trivially readable from any page that renders the plugin's UI). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine high priority, not an inflated CVSS: the CVSS:3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/C:N/I:H/A:H) aligns with the description's unauthenticated, single-nonce, two-request exploitation, and arbitrary deletion of wp-config.php is a well-understood, reliable path to remote code execution and site takeover. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An unauthenticated attacker loads any public page that renders the plugin's frontend nonce, then sends an admin-ajax request to proSol_fileUploadModalProcess to poison their session with a '../../../wp-config.php' traversal key, and follows with a proSol_fileDeleteProcess request using that key as the filename to delete wp-config.php. With the config gone WordPress can be re-driven through its installer or the site otherwise coerced into an attacker-controlled state, yielding remote code execution; no public POC is currently identified but the sequence is directly derived from the vendor description. |
| Remediation | Upstream fix available (WordPress.org plugin changeset referenced); a released patched version is not independently confirmed in the supplied data, so upgrade to the latest ProSolution WP Client release above 2.0.8 as published on the plugin page and verify against the Wordfence advisory (https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/4e9698f0-b228-4f4e-838b-c0c0a193d675) before relying on a specific version number. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: Immediately disable and remove the ProSolution WP Client plugin from all production systems, then scan WordPress directories for unauthorized file deletions or anomalous activity in the past 30 days. …
