CRITICAL 9.8

DescriptionCVE.org

The ProSolution WP Client plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads due to missing file type validation in the 'proSol_fileUploadProcess' function in all versions up to, and including, 1.9.9. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.

AnalysisAI

Unauthenticated arbitrary file upload in ProSolution WP Client plugin (≤1.9.9) enables attackers to upload executable files without validation via the 'proSol_fileUploadProcess' function, leading to remote code execution on WordPress servers. Critical severity (CVSS 9.8) with network-accessible attack vector requiring no authentication or user interaction. No public exploit identified at time of analysis.

Technical ContextAI

Missing file type validation in proSol_fileUploadProcess function (class-prosolwpclient-public.php line 993) allows bypass of content-type restrictions. CWE-434 unrestricted file upload enables direct write of PHP webshells or malicious executables to server filesystem, exploitable via HTTP POST without authentication checks (CVSS PR:N).

RemediationAI

Upgrade to ProSolution WP Client version 1.9.10 or later. Upstream fix available (changeset 3484577); released patched version not independently confirmed at time of analysis. If immediate patching is not feasible, deactivate the plugin entirely until update can be applied, as no workaround exists for unauthenticated file upload vulnerabilities. Review server filesystem for unauthorized uploads (webshells, suspicious PHP files) post-remediation. Consult vendor advisory at https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/3852aef6-42e7-4b71-a1ba-dd41284fd07b and monitor WordPress plugin repository for release announcements.
