DescriptionCVE.org

A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the embedded HTTP service in TL-WR841N v14 when processing multipart/form-data requests. Insufficient validation of an attacker-controlled boundary parameter may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to submit a crafted request that corrupts memory by overwriting data beyond the bounds of an internal buffer.

Successful exploitation may result in modification or corruption of process memory, potentially leading to undefined application behavior. Arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, and denial-of-service conditions have not been demonstrated.

AnalysisAI

Memory corruption in the TP-Link TL-WR841N v14 embedded HTTP service allows an unauthenticated attacker with adjacent network access to trigger a buffer overflow by submitting a crafted multipart/form-data request containing an oversized boundary parameter. The confirmed impact is limited to undefined application behavior resulting from process memory corruption; TP-Link's own advisory and the CVE description both explicitly state that arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, and denial-of-service have not been demonstrated, despite those labels appearing in the CVE tags. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Adjacent network access is required - the attacker must share the same LAN segment, Wi-Fi broadcast domain, or equivalent layer-2 network as the TL-WR841N v14 router (AV:A per CVSS 4.0 vector). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 score of 5.3 appropriately reflects a constrained, moderate-risk vulnerability. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply the latest firmware update for hardware version v14 from TP-Link's official support page at https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tl-wr841n/v14/#Firmware; the vendor advisory and supplemental guidance are available at https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/5270/. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
