3DescriptionCVE.org
Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a buffer overflow vulnerability in the poe_schedule_profile function. The vulnerability is caused by repeated concatenation of the start_date, start_time, duration_time, how_often, weekdays, monthly_date, and cycle_duration fields into small fixed-size buffers without proper length checks. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input, causing a denial of service or potentially executing arbitrary commands. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface.
AnalysisAI
Buffer overflow in DrayTek VigorSwitch's PoE schedule profile function allows authenticated remote administrators to cause denial of service or execute arbitrary commands on affected network switches. The flaw spans at least 10 CPE-confirmed models and an even wider set per VulnCheck tags, covering much of the VigorSwitch product line. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the VigorSwitch web management interface - PR:H is confirmed by both the CVSS 4.0 vector and the CVE description. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.6 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H) correctly reflects the high potential impact but the PR:H metric is the critical moderating factor: exploitation requires valid administrative credentials, substantially narrowing the realistic attacker pool to insiders, credential-theft victims, or operators targeting devices with default or reused passwords. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Consult the DrayTek security advisory at https://www.draytek.com/about/security-advisory/multiple-vulnerabilities-in-vigorswitch-series-august-2026/ and apply the firmware update corresponding to your specific VigorSwitch model; exact fix versions were not independently confirmed in the available data, so check the advisory directly for per-model version details. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, conduct an inventory of all DrayTek VigorSwitch network switches in production and cross-reference model numbers against DrayTek's security advisory to identify confirmed affected units. …
