The The Welcomizer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to and including 2.8.1. This is due to missing authorization checks on the twiz_ajax_callback AJAX action's 'savesection' handler combined with the use of eval() to execute user-supplied 'custom logic' code on the frontend. The AJAX handler at twiz-ajax.php verifies a nonce but performs no current_user_can() capability check for the ACTION_SAVE_SECTION case. Furthermore, the nonce is exposed to any authenticated user through the directly-accessible twiz-ajax.js.php file which loads WordPress and outputs the nonce. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary PHP code via the twiz_custom_logic POST parameter when saving a section with output choice 'twiz_logic_output'.
AnalysisAI
Remote code execution in The Welcomizer WordPress plugin versions up to and including 2.8.1 lets authenticated users with Subscriber-level access or higher execute arbitrary PHP on the server by abusing the twiz_ajax_callback AJAX action's savesection handler. The handler checks a nonce but omits a current_user_can() capability check, and eval() processes attacker-supplied PHP from the twiz_custom_logic POST parameter when output is set to twiz_logic_output; the nonce is exposed to any authenticated user via twiz-ajax.js.php, so it does not prevent exploitation. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires an authenticated WordPress account at Subscriber level or above (PR:L) on a site running The Welcomizer <=2.8.1. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine high-priority vulnerability where the vendor CVSS of 8.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) accurately reflects the impact - unlike many WordPress 'RCE'-tagged CVEs, the eval() of attacker-supplied PHP here produces real server-side code execution, fully justifying C:H/I:H/A:H. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch was identified at time of analysis for CVE-2026-4327; because The Welcomizer <=2.8.1 is vulnerable, the primary action is to deactivate and remove the plugin from affected WordPress sites until a patched version is available. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory every WordPress instance running The Welcomizer at version 2.8.1 or earlier and, where the plugin is not business-essential, deactivate and remove it immediately; where it must remain online, deploy a WAF rule blocking requests to admin-ajax.php carrying action=twiz_ajax_callback or the twiz_custom_logic parameter, force password resets and session invalidation for all administrator accounts, and disable open user registration or audit existing Subscriber accounts for unexpected entries. …
