DescriptionNVD

Vulnerability in the Helidon product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: WebSocket). Supported versions that are affected are 4.0.0-4.5.4. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Helidon. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Helidon. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L).

AnalysisAI

Unauthenticated attackers with network access to HTTP endpoints can cause a partial denial of service in Oracle Helidon versions 4.0.0 through 4.5.4 by abusing the WebSocket component. The flaw carries a CVSS 3.1 base score of 5.3 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N, availability-only partial impact) and requires no credentials or user interaction, making it trivially automatable against any reachable WebSocket-enabled service. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires the target application to expose a network-reachable HTTP endpoint backed by Helidon's WebSocket component in version 4.0.0 through 4.5.4; the application must actually have WebSocket handling enabled or a WebSocket endpoint registered, since a Helidon service that never activates the WebSocket module has no attack surface for this flaw. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 vector is AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L - maximum network reachability and zero prerequisites, but only a partial availability impact, which is why the score lands at a moderate 5.3 rather than high. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply Oracle's Critical Security Patch Update published at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspusep2026.html, which is the authoritative source for the exact patched Helidon release; the supplied intelligence lists 4.0.0-4.5.4 as the vulnerable range, so upgrade to the fixed build named in that advisory rather than assuming the next patch release number. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
