DescriptionCVE.org

Vulnerability in the Helidon product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Imperative Web Server). The supported version that is affected is 4.5.3. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Helidon. While the vulnerability is in Helidon, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Helidon accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Helidon accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Helidon. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.9 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:H/A:L).

AnalysisAI

Scope-changing compromise of Oracle Helidon 4.5.3 (Imperative Web Server component) lets a remote, unauthenticated attacker send HTTP requests that grant high-integrity write access to Helidon-accessible data, partial read disclosure, and a partial denial of service - with impact that can extend beyond Helidon into adjacent products. Rated CVSS 3.1 9.9 due to the scope change combined with easy, no-privilege network exploitation. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The one concrete prerequisite is that the target runs the Helidon Imperative Web Server (Helidon SE's programmatic HTTP server) at version 4.5.3 with its HTTP listener reachable by the attacker over the network. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment Multiple signals point to high priority: the CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) describes trivial, unauthenticated, network-based exploitation, and the scope change (S:C) with High integrity impact is what drives the 9.9 score even though individual confidentiality and availability impacts are only Low. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An attacker who can reach the Helidon 4.5.3 HTTP listener sends a crafted HTTP request that abuses the Imperative Web Server request-handling path, requiring no credentials and no user interaction. This yields unauthorized write/modify/delete access to Helidon-managed data, partial data disclosure, and a partial denial of service, and - owing to the scope change - may affect adjacent products. …
Remediation Apply the fix from the Oracle Critical Patch Update (August 2026) referenced at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html; the input does not name an exact fixed Helidon version, so treat the CPU advisory as the source of the precise patched release and upgrade 4.5.3 accordingly - do not rely on an invented version number. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: Conduct immediate inventory of all Oracle Helidon 4.5.3 instances across production and non-production environments; isolate affected systems from untrusted networks using firewall restrictions. …
