Requires authorized CR-author access (PR:L), and injected objects execute with the operator's separate authority, changing security scope (S:C) with high confidentiality/integrity/availability impact.

Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') vulnerability in Apache Camel K.
A YAML injection vulnerability in custom resource configuration allows an authorized CR author to inject arbitrary Kubernetes objects, potentially enabling unauthorized resource creation with the privileges of the operator.
This issue affects Apache Camel K: from 2.0.0 before 2.9.3, from 2.10.1 before 2.10.2.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.9.3, 2.10.2 or 2.11.0, which fixes the issue.

AnalysisAI
Code injection in Apache Camel K (2.0.0-2.9.2 and 2.10.1) lets an authorized custom-resource author smuggle arbitrary Kubernetes object definitions through YAML in CR configuration, which the operator then materializes using its own elevated service-account privileges. Because the operator typically holds broad cluster permissions, this converts limited CR-authoring rights into unauthorized creation of arbitrary Kubernetes resources - a privilege-escalation and in-cluster RCE primitive. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an authenticated principal who is already authorized to create or edit Apache Camel K custom resources (an 'authorized CR author') on a cluster running a vulnerable version (2.0.0-2.9.2 or 2.10.1). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The published CVSS 9.8 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/C:H/I:H/A:H) conflicts with the description, which explicitly requires an 'authorized CR author' - i.e., some level of privilege - so PR:N appears overstated and a more defensible metric is PR:L, lowering the true base toward the high-8 range rather than a pure unauthenticated 9.8. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade Apache Camel K to 2.9.3, 2.10.2, or 2.11.0, whichever matches your release line, as directed by the Apache advisory (https://camel.apache.org/security/CVE-2026-80352.html). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
