DescriptionCVE.org

PocketMine-MP versions before 5.42.1 contain a denial of service vulnerability in the LoginPacket handler that allows remote attackers to flood warning messages by injecting numerous junk properties into the clientData JWT. Attackers can craft malicious login packets with excessive unknown properties to waste server CPU time and degrade performance.

AnalysisAI

Remote denial-of-service in PocketMine-MP before 5.42.1 allows unauthenticated network attackers to degrade server performance by sending LoginPackets whose clientData JWT bodies contain large numbers of arbitrary junk properties. The server's JsonMapper iterates over and logs a warning for every unexpected property, enabling log flooding and unbounded CPU waste with no authentication required. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation No authentication, configuration change, or special client state is required: any host that can reach the server's Bedrock network port (default UDP 19132) can send a pre-authentication LoginPacket. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VA:L) scores 6.9, reflecting no authentication requirement and no confidentiality or integrity impact, with only low availability degradation. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade PocketMine-MP to version 5.42.1 or later; this is the vendor-confirmed fix, implemented in commit c1d4a813fb8c21bfd8b9affd040da864b794df71, which limits the number of tolerated unknown JWT properties to 10 and rejects the LoginPacket by throwing a PacketHandlingException when this threshold is exceeded. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
