4DescriptionCVE.org
PocketMine-MP versions before 5.39.2 contain a network amplification vulnerability in ActorEventPacket handling that allows clients to trigger consuming animations for all visible players. Attackers can send crafted ActorEventPacket messages to spam animation events to other clients and waste server CPU and memory resources.
AnalysisAI
Network amplification in PocketMine-MP before 5.39.2 allows authenticated game clients to trigger server-broadcast consuming animations for all visible players by sending crafted ActorEventPacket messages. Each malicious packet causes the server to invoke ConsumingItemAnimation.broadcastAnimation() for every peer in range, multiplying network load and CPU/memory consumption proportionally to the online player count. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires the attacker to hold a valid authenticated session on the PocketMine-MP server (CVSS PR:L) and to be positioned so that other active players fall within the server's entity visibility radius - the more visible players, the greater the amplification. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N, score 5.3 Medium) accurately reflects the low-privilege authenticated requirement and network reachability. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade PocketMine-MP to version 5.39.2, confirmed as the patched release per the GitHub advisory and Composer package metadata. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
