4DescriptionCVE.org
n8n versions before 1.123.73, 2.35.4, and 2.36.2 pass message content in the Gmail (v1) and Brevo nodes to the mail composer without verifying it is a string. An authenticated user able to run a workflow can supply an expression that resolves to an object carrying a path or href property, causing the composer to read a local file accessible to the n8n process or fetch an internal URL (SSRF) and attach the result to the outgoing message.
AnalysisAI
Local file read and server-side request forgery (SSRF) in n8n's Gmail (v1) and Brevo workflow nodes allow an authenticated low-privilege user to exfiltrate files accessible to the n8n process or probe internal network endpoints by supplying a crafted expression that resolves to a JavaScript object with a path or href property. Affected versions span the stable branch before 1.123.73 and the 2.x branch before 2.35.4 and 2.36.2, as confirmed by vendor advisory GHSA-95ph-833c-4wrp. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an authenticated n8n user account with permission to create and execute workflows - specifically, the ability to set expression-evaluated fields in the Gmail (v1) or Brevo nodes. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H) reflects that exploitation requires only a valid n8n account with workflow execution rights - a low bar in collaborative or multi-tenant deployments. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade n8n to version 1.123.73 or later (stable branch), 2.35.4 or later, or 2.36.2 or later as specified in vendor advisory GHSA-95ph-833c-4wrp at https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/security/advisories/GHSA-95ph-833c-4wrp. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
