Administrative credentials required for web management access (PR:H); full OS command execution as root yields high C/I/A; no scope change as impact is confined to the switch itself.

3DescriptionCVE.org
Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a command injection vulnerability in the commandTable function. The vulnerability is caused by incomplete filtering of dangerous characters such as backticks, newline characters, and single quotes in the parameter field. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface.
AnalysisAI
Command injection via the commandTable function affects 28 DrayTek VigorSwitch managed switch models across multiple firmware branches, allowing an authenticated administrator to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges on the device. The root cause is incomplete sanitization of shell metacharacters - specifically backticks, newline characters, and single quotes - in a parameter field processed by the web management interface. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the DrayTek VigorSwitch web management interface - this is explicitly stated in the description and confirmed by the CVSS 4.0 vector's PR:H metric. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.6 is driven primarily by the high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact metrics against the vulnerable system, but PR:H (high privileges required) is the most important constraint for realistic risk prioritization - an attacker must already hold valid administrative credentials before exploitation is possible. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | The primary remediation is to upgrade affected VigorSwitch firmware to the patched versions per the DrayTek August 2026 security advisory at https://www.draytek.com/about/security-advisory/multiple-vulnerabilities-in-vigorswitch-series-august-2026/. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all DrayTek VigorSwitch managed switches in use to identify affected models and document network criticality; restrict administrative access to these devices where feasible. …
