1DescriptionCVE.org
A vulnerability was identified in GPAC 26.08-DEV. This vulnerability affects the function gf_rtp_parse_ttxt of the file src/ietf/rtp_depacketizer.c of the component RTP Depacketizer. Such manipulation of the argument size leads to out-of-bounds read. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Upgrading to version abi-16.26 is able to resolve this issue. The name of the patch is 6bb0f64b4d1039c0fecd14ee2c1ee861d8661a68. The affected component should be upgraded.
AnalysisAI
An out-of-bounds read in GPAC's RTP depacketizer lets unauthenticated remote attackers crash or partially disclose memory by delivering a crafted 3GPP timed-text (TTXT) RTP payload with an oversized advertised length. The flaw lives in gf_rtp_parse_ttxt() in src/ietf/rtp_depacketizer.c and affects GPAC 26.08-DEV and earlier builds prior to abi-16.26; exploitation requires the target to be acting as an RTP receiver/depacketizer rather than simply parsing a local file. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires the target GPAC instance to act as an RTP receiver/depacketizer processing a 3GPP timed-text (TTXT) RTP payload, so the attacker must be able to deliver a crafted RTP stream (with an oversized advertised ttu_len) into that session. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a genuine but moderate-severity memory-safety flaw, not a top-tier priority. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade to GPAC abi-16.26, which contains the fix, or cherry-pick commit 6bb0f64b4d1039c0fecd14ee2c1ee861d8661a68 (reference: https://github.com/gpac/gpac/commit/6bb0f64b4d1039c0fecd14ee2c1ee861d8661a68 and https://github.com/gpac/gpac/releases/tag/abi-16.26). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
