Network-reachable with no complexity; PR:L for required authentication; C:H/I:H/A:H reflect arbitrary file read, write, and potential config corruption; S:U because downstream database compromise requires independent credential use.

DescriptionCVE.org

DbGate fails to validate jslid parameters in the jsldata controller, allowing authenticated users to read and write arbitrary files via file:// scheme resolution. Attackers can exploit getJslFileName() to bypass directory containment and access sensitive files including encrypted database credentials stored in connections configuration.

AnalysisAI

Arbitrary file read and write in DbGate through version 7.2.6 allows authenticated low-privilege users to escape the application's data directory by supplying file:// scheme URIs in the jslid parameter of the jsldata controller. The root function getJslFileName() performs no directory containment validation, exposing the full server filesystem to the DbGate process's OS-level permissions. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires a valid DbGate session with at least low-privilege access (PR:L confirmed by CVSS vector) - unauthenticated exploitation is not possible. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H) accurately reflects a no-complexity network attack requiring only a valid low-privilege account - the primary limiting factor and the key distinction from a fully critical unauthenticated flaw. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation No vendor-released patched version has been identified in the available references at time of analysis. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours, identify and enumerate all DbGate installations managing production databases; restrict network access to DbGate to a limited set of trusted administrative IP addresses or disable the service entirely pending patch availability, and audit which users currently have DbGate account access. …
