The Verdure Core plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 1.2. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to include and execute arbitrary files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where images and other “safe” file types can be uploaded and included.
AnalysisAI
Local File Inclusion in the Verdure Core WordPress plugin (versions ≤ 1.2) enables unauthenticated remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary PHP files on the server. Rooted in CWE-98 (improper PHP include/require path control), the flaw can be chained with file upload functionality - an attacker uploads a PHP-bearing image or other 'safe' file, then triggers the LFI to execute it - yielding full remote code execution, access control bypass, and sensitive data disclosure. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Two conditions must be satisfied for full RCE: the Verdure Core plugin must be installed and active at version 1.2 or earlier, and attacker-controlled file content must be present on the server filesystem - typically achieved via any upload endpoint accessible prior to authentication (e.g., media uploads, form attachments). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 8.1 score (AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) reflects unauthenticated network exploitation with elevated attack complexity and high impact across all three pillars. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker targeting a WordPress site running Verdure Core ≤ 1.2 first identifies a publicly accessible file upload endpoint - such as a guest-allowed contact form, comment attachment feature, or open media endpoint - and uploads an image file containing an embedded PHP webshell. The attacker then sends a crafted HTTP request manipulating a path parameter in the Verdure Core plugin to reference the server-side path of the uploaded file, causing PHP to include and execute the embedded payload, granting the attacker a remote shell running as the web server user. … |
| Remediation | No vendor-released patch version has been independently confirmed in the provided intelligence - neither the Wordfence nor the Patchstack reference cites an explicit fixed release number, so patch availability should be verified directly against the WordPress.org plugin repository and Mikado Themes' official channels before assuming a safe upgrade target exists. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
