DescriptionCVE.org

SiYuan before v3.7.4 contains an information disclosure vulnerability in the /api/filetree/authFilePublishAccess endpoint, which is registered with CheckAuth only and is reachable anonymously. The endpoint never sets a failure code, so its outcome is signalled entirely by the response message and by the presence of a Set-Cookie header, and these signals differ across access tiers. By submitting requests with an empty password for a candidate document identifier, an anonymous attacker can distinguish whether a document is public/nonexistent, password-protected, or exists at the hidden or forbidden tier, thereby confirming the existence of documents they are not permitted to access. Because hidden and forbidden entries store an empty password, such requests also cause the server to issue a publish-auth cookie for forbidden documents.

AnalysisAI

Information disclosure and authentication bypass in SiYuan before v3.7.4 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to enumerate the existence and access tier of any document by exploiting observable behavioral differences in the /api/filetree/authFilePublishAccess endpoint. Beyond mere enumeration, the flaw carries a more severe secondary impact: because hidden and forbidden document tiers are stored with an empty password, submitting an empty-password request against those documents causes the server to issue a valid publish-auth cookie, granting the anonymous caller direct access to content the document owner explicitly restricted. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attack requires only unauthenticated network access to the SiYuan instance - no credentials, no session, and no user interaction are needed, consistent with PR:N/UI:N in the CVSS vector. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 4.0 score of 6.9 (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:N/SA:N) reflects a network-accessible, zero-friction, unauthenticated attack with limited confidentiality impact - an accurate baseline for the enumeration component, but it may understate the unauthorized cookie issuance aspect, which constitutes a functional authorization bypass rather than purely passive disclosure. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the SiYuan instance iterates over candidate document identifiers, submitting empty-password POST requests to `/api/filetree/authFilePublishAccess` for each. By comparing the response body text and the presence or absence of a `Set-Cookie` header, the attacker builds a map of document existence and access tiers. …
Remediation Upgrade SiYuan to v3.7.4 or later, which resolves this vulnerability per the vendor's GitHub Security Advisory GHSA-4pjg-x8qj-33j5 (https://github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/security/advisories/GHSA-4pjg-x8qj-33j5). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
