Ninja Tables Pro 5.2.11 contains an embedded malicious code vulnerability introduced via a tampered plugin build served through a decommissioned update server. The tampered build introduced a rogue PHP file (app/Library/updater/NinjaTableDataSync.php) that established a backdoor REST API endpoint, dropped persistent PHP files in mu-plugins and uploads directories, installed a passwordless administrator account, and registered scheduled tasks that survived plugin removal.

AnalysisAI
Supply-chain compromise of the Ninja Tables Pro WordPress plugin (version 5.2.11) delivered a tampered build through a decommissioned vendor update server, embedding a backdoor that gives attackers full control of affected WordPress sites. Once installed, the rogue code stands up an unauthenticated REST API endpoint, plants a passwordless administrator account, and drops persistent PHP payloads that survive plugin removal. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires that the victim installed the specific tampered Ninja Tables Pro 5.2.11 build delivered from the decommissioned vendor update server during the compromise window - the legitimate build is not affected, so this is the primary limiting factor. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a high-priority, real-world risk rather than a theoretical high-CVSS issue. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | A site administrator updated or installed Ninja Tables Pro 5.2.11 while the vendor's now-decommissioned update server was serving the tampered build, silently installing the backdoor. An attacker then sends an unauthenticated request to the rogue REST API endpoint (or logs in via the planted passwordless admin account) to execute PHP, exfiltrate the database, and maintain persistence through mu-plugins and cron even after the plugin is removed. … |
| Remediation | Treat any site that installed the tampered Ninja Tables Pro 5.2.11 as fully compromised and perform incident response rather than a simple update - patching the plugin alone is insufficient because the backdoor persists outside the plugin directory. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
