2DescriptionCVE.org
A vulnerability in the Lutece Core XSL export management module up to version 7.1.7, which allows authenticated administrators to execute code remotely. The XML/XSLT processing configuration does not enable secure processing mode (FEATURE_SECURE_PROCESSING), allowing Java extension functions to be executed from malicious XSL stylesheets. An attacker with administrator privileges can upload a manipulated XSL transformation file and trigger its execution during user export operations, resulting in the execution of arbitrary code on the server.

AnalysisAI
Remote code execution in Lutece Core (versions up to and including 7.1.7) allows an authenticated administrator to run arbitrary Java code on the server by abusing the XSL export management module. Because the XML/XSLT processor is configured without FEATURE_SECURE_PROCESSING, malicious XSL stylesheets can invoke Java extension functions; an admin uploads a crafted XSL transformation and triggers it during a user export. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires an authenticated Lutece back-office administrator account (CVSS PR:H) and access to the XSL export management module. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N with high vulnerable- and subsequent-system impact across C/I/A) reflects genuine full-server compromise but is gated by PR:H - the attacker must already hold administrator privileges in the Lutece back office, which substantially narrows the realistic threat to insider misuse, compromised admin credentials, or a chained privilege escalation. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Patch available per vendor advisory: upgrade Lutece Core to the vendor-released fixed version above 7.1.7 (consult the INCIBE advisory at http://incibe.es/en/incibe-cert/notices/aviso/code-injection-lutece-core and the Lutece project for the exact patched release, which was not enumerated in the available data - do not rely on an assumed version number). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours: inventory all systems running Lutece Core and confirm the deployed version; immediately restrict administrative access to the XSL export functionality for any systems still on version 7.1.7 or earlier that cannot be patched within hours. …
