Alert meAnalysisAIv1 – Sep 15, 2026
Improper authorization checks in Apple's headphone motion data handling allow a locally installed app to read motion sensor data from connected headphones without prompting the user for consent, affecting iOS/iPadOS 26.7 and 27 and earlier, macOS Sequoia 15.8, macOS Tahoe 26.7, macOS Golden Gate 27, tvOS 27 and watchOS 27 and earlier. Exploitation requires a malicious or compromised app and user interaction, and the impact is limited to confidentiality of headphone sensor data (CVSS 5.5, C:H/I:N/A:N). Apple has shipped fixes in all affected operating systems; EPSS is low (0.20%, 10th percentile), there is no CISA KEV listing and no public exploit code identified at time of analysis.
