Severity by source
AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
AC:H reflects the two-stage prerequisite (LFI plus separate PHP file write); PR:L for mandatory custom-role authentication; full triad impact achievable via PHP code execution.

The Eventin - Event Calendar, Event Registration, Tickets & Booking (AI Powered) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 4.1.22 via the 'event_layout' parameter parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with custom-level access and above, to include and execute arbitrary .php files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where .php file types can be uploaded and included.

AnalysisAI
Local File Inclusion in the Eventin Event Calendar WordPress plugin (all versions through 4.1.22) allows authenticated attackers with custom-level WordPress access to include and execute arbitrary PHP files by supplying a crafted path via the unsanitized event_layout parameter in the plugin's event template and REST API endpoints. Successful code execution requires the attacker to first place a PHP file on the server - a two-stage exploit chain reflected in the CVSS AC:H rating. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires: (1) a valid WordPress user account with custom-level access or above (PR:L) - unauthenticated visitors cannot trigger this path; (2) the ability to supply a controlled value to the `event_layout` parameter via at least one of three documented code paths in `template-functions.php:480`, `EventController.php:1041`, or `EventController.php:2165`; and (3) a PHP file already present on the server in a location reachable by PHP's `include()` (AC:H) - this typically requires chaining with a file-upload vulnerability, misconfigured upload directory, or hosting control-panel access. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 7.5 High score accurately captures the tension between high impact and meaningful exploitability constraints. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Update the Eventin plugin to version 4.1.23 or later; the affected version ceiling is 4.1.22, and the upstream fix is reflected in WordPress plugin SVN changeset 3668637 (https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3668637%40wp-event-solution&new=3668637%40wp-event-solution). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
