Network-reachable with no privileges, but AC:H captures the required insecure workflow precondition; S:C because the impacted Supabase backend differs from the vulnerable n8n node, yielding high confidentiality/integrity via serviceRole/RLS bypass, no availability impact.

Lifecycle Timeline
5DescriptionCVE.org
n8n versions before 1.123.80, from 2.0.0 before 2.39.6, and from 2.40.0 before 2.40.1 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the Supabase node where the tableId parameter is inserted into request paths without validation. Attackers can exploit workflows binding tableId to untrusted input to traverse to Auth and Storage APIs using the administrative serviceRole key, bypassing Row Level Security and enabling unauthorized data access and modification.

AnalysisAI
Path traversal in the n8n Supabase node allows unauthenticated remote attackers to pivot to Supabase Auth and Storage APIs when a workflow binds the tableId parameter to untrusted input, bypassing Row Level Security and enabling unauthorized data access and modification. Affects n8n before 1.123.80, 2.0.0 through 2.39.5, and 2.40.0; fixed in 1.123.80, 2.39.6, and 2.40.1. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires an n8n instance (before 1.123.80, 2.0.0-2.39.5, or 2.40.0) running a workflow that uses the Supabase node AND binds the tableId parameter to attacker-influenced/untrusted input (e.g., webhook, form, or incoming item data) rather than a static value. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 score of 7.1 (High) is driven almost entirely by subsequent-system impact (SC:H/SI:H/SA:H) rather than the directly vulnerable component (VC:L/VI:N/VA:N), reflecting that the flaw in n8n is used as a pivot to compromise the connected Supabase backend. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patches are available: upgrade to n8n 1.123.80 or later, 2.39.6 or later, or 2.40.1 or later, depending on your current major/minor branch. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory n8n instances and identify any Supabase nodes or workflows that pass untrusted input to the tableId parameter; if a dynamic tableId and serviceRole key are in use, disable or restrict those workflows, rotate the affected Supabase serviceRole credentials, and apply the vendor patch where feasible. …
