Analysis
Canon printers contain a buffer overflow in XPS font fpgm table processing, enabling remote code execution when processing crafted print jobs with malicious font data.
Technical Context
The XPS font parser in Canon printers fails to validate the size of the fpgm (font program) table in TrueType fonts (CWE-787), allowing an out-of-bounds write when processing crafted font data embedded in XPS documents.
Affected Products
['Canon Small Office Multifunction Printers', 'Canon Laser Printers']
Remediation
Apply Canon firmware updates. Disable XPS printing if not needed.
