Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: block range must be validated before use in ext4_mb_clear_bb() Block range to free is validated in ext4_free_blocks() using ext4_inode_block_valid() and then it's passed to ext4_mb_clear_bb(). On bigalloc-enabled filesystems (where multiple physical blocks are grouped into clusters), the block range adjustment logic in ext4_free_blocks() can modify block ranges after ext4_inode_block_valid() validation. This creates a window where invalid block ranges bypass validation checks before being used in ext4_mb_clear_bb(), resulting in CWE-416 (Use After Free) style memory safety violations.
