Network-accessible unauthenticated endpoint; only low confidentiality impact since counts leak, not content; no integrity or availability effect.

Siyuan before v3.8.2 contains an information disclosure vulnerability in the POST /api/search/fullTextSearchBlock endpoint that filters private blocks from results but returns unfiltered match counts. Unauthenticated publish-mode readers can submit arbitrary search terms to learn whether matching content exists in hidden or unpublished documents and determine the number of matching blocks and pages.
AnalysisAI
Information disclosure in Siyuan note-taking software before v3.8.2 allows unauthenticated publish-mode readers to probe the existence and quantity of private or unpublished content via the full-text search API. The POST /api/search/fullTextSearchBlock endpoint correctly withholds actual block content from hidden documents but leaks unfiltered match counts - the number of matching blocks and pages - enabling attackers to use the search API as an oracle to systematically map the structure of private content without ever seeing it. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires that the Siyuan instance be deployed in publish mode, which enables unauthenticated external access to the application's API. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L) scores 6.9 and accurately characterizes this as a low-confidentiality, network-accessible, unauthenticated issue - the score reflects the limited nature of what leaks (metadata counts rather than raw content). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Siyuan to v3.8.2 or later, which corrects the unfiltered match-count disclosure in the full-text search endpoint; the vendor-released patch is confirmed by the GitHub security advisory GHSA-g45v-hxvm-wccj. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
