AV:L because exploitation requires influence over the calling process; AC:H reflects the specific non-terminated oversized form required (AT:P equivalent); no C or I impact, only process crash.

4DescriptionCVE.org
An incorrect numeric type conversion in the BSON document building component of the MongoDB C++ Driver may cause a length value to be interpreted incorrectly. When an application supplies an extremely large, non-terminated field name to the builder, the library may read memory outside the intended buffer and terminate the calling process. No authentication is required, but the calling application must pass the oversized name in a specific form.
AnalysisAI
Process termination via out-of-bounds memory read affects the MongoDB C++ Driver's BSON document builder, caused by a numeric type conversion error (CWE-681) that misinterprets a field name length when an application supplies an extremely large, non-null-terminated field name in a specific form. All versions of the C++ Driver are indicated as in scope per the wildcard CPE. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | The calling application must pass an extremely large, non-null-terminated field name to the MongoDB C++ Driver BSON document builder in a specific form - the CVSS 4.0 AT:P metric formalizes this as a required attack condition. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VA:H) assigns local attack vector with specific attack requirements and high availability impact - meaning the affected component is the calling process rather than a network-exposed service, and a crash is the sole consequence. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | No patched release version is confirmed from the available data - the Jira ticket CXX-3548 (https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/CXX-3548) should be monitored for a fixed version announcement. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
