DescriptionCVE.org

In versions below 2.3.8 of the AD LDAP app for Splunk SOAR, a user who holds a role with permission to run actions could inject crafted input into an Active Directory query to enumerate Active Directory objects, including accounts, groups, and organizational units, read sensitive attributes from arbitrary directory objects, and redirect account modification actions to unintended objects. For more information see Run an action in Splunk SOAR (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-soar/soar-on-premises/use-splunk-soar-on-premises/8.6.0/use-the-command-line-interface-to-perform-tasks-in-splunk-soar-on-premises/run-an-action-in-splunk-soar-on-premises).

AnalysisAI

LDAP injection in the AD LDAP app for Splunk SOAR (versions below 2.3.8) allows authenticated low-privileged users to manipulate Active Directory queries, exposing account enumeration, sensitive attribute disclosure, and unintended modification of AD objects. Exploitation requires only a role with 'run actions' permission within Splunk SOAR - no elevated SOAR admin rights needed. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must be authenticated to Splunk SOAR and hold a role that grants the 'run actions' permission - this is the sole but critical prerequisite. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The NVD-assigned CVSS 3.1 score of 5.4 (Medium) with vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N accurately reflects the real-world risk profile: the vulnerability is network-reachable and requires no user interaction, but exploitation is gated behind valid SOAR credentials with 'run actions' permission, making mass exploitation unlikely. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An authenticated Splunk SOAR user with a role that includes the 'run actions' permission manually invokes an AD LDAP action - such as a user lookup or group query - and injects crafted LDAP filter syntax into an input field (e.g., a username or distinguished name parameter). The injected filter alters the LDAP query scope to enumerate all accounts and groups in the directory or retrieves sensitive attributes (such as password hints or description fields) from arbitrary objects. …
Remediation Upgrade the AD LDAP app for Splunk SOAR to version 2.3.8 or later, which contains the vendor-released patch per the Splunk advisory SVD-2026-0806 (https://advisory.splunk.com/advisories/SVD-2026-0806). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
