Impact

Sensitive files such as configuration files, credentials, or system files can be read, potentially leading to further compromise. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this represents a significant risk.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

An attacker modifies a file parameter to include directory traversal sequences (../../etc/passwd) to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem.

Act Now Prioritize within 24-48h. Why: HIGH severity + EPSS > 10%.

Marvell QConvergeConsole getFileUploadBytes Directory Traversal Information Disclosure Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of Marvell QConvergeConsole. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability.

The specific flaw exists within the implementation of the getFileUploadBytes method. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose information in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-24919.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

CVE-2025-6799 presents notable security risk, a path traversal vulnerability rated CVSS 7.5. This could allow attackers to access or modify files outside intended directories, potentially exposing sensitive configuration or credentials. With an EPSS score of 13%, exploitation is likely in exposed deployments. Organizations should apply vendor updates when available and consider compensating controls in the interim.

Business Impact: High
Compensating Controls

Apply vendor patch. If immediate patching is not feasible: (1) Restrict file upload functionality via WAF; (2) Implement allowlist-based file type validation; (3) Use chroot/containerization to limit filesystem access.

Attack Technique

Path traversal exploits occur when applications use user-controlled input to construct file system paths without proper validation.

Information disclosure occurs when an application unintentionally exposes sensitive data that aids attackers in reconnaissance or directly compromises security.
