2DescriptionCVE.org
An OS command injection vulnerability exists in the account management subsystem of Brocade Fabric OS versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. When an administrator initiates an account deletion, the system invokes an internal maintenance routine to clean up cryptographic keys associated with the target account. Malformed account names previously accepted by Fabric OS can cause the execution of embedded shell metacharacters, triggering command injection.
AnalysisAI
OS command injection in Brocade Fabric OS account management affects versions before 9.2.2d and 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1. An authenticated administrator with adjacent management-network access can instigate account deletion, and if the target account has a malformed name containing shell metacharacters-accepted by older Fabric OS builds-the internal cryptographic-key cleanup routine may execute injected commands. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an administrative account (PR:H) to initiate the account-deletion operation in the Fabric OS account management subsystem, plus adjacent access to the switch management network (AV:A) and an operator action to trigger the deletion (UI:P). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is a medium-severity issue (CVSS 4.0 base 5.4) whose real-world risk is low-to-moderate despite being an OS command injection (CWE-78). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply Brocade/Broadcom's vendor-released fix: upgrade to Fabric OS 9.2.2d or later for the 9.x branch. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
