4DescriptionCVE.org
Grav versions before 1.10.55 contain a path traversal vulnerability in the admin plugin's Save As action that fails to validate the language code parameter. An authenticated admin user with admin.pages.create permission can supply directory traversal sequences in the lang POST field to write arbitrary .md files outside the pages directory with attacker-controlled content.
AnalysisAI
Path traversal in Grav CMS before 1.10.55 allows an authenticated admin user with the admin.pages.create permission to write arbitrary Markdown files outside the intended pages directory by embedding traversal sequences in the lang POST parameter of the admin plugin's Save As action. The vulnerability gives an attacker-controlled write primitive constrained to .md file extensions, which - depending on Grav's template and plugin layout - may be chained to persistent backdoor placement or secondary code execution. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires an authenticated Grav admin session with the admin.pages.create permission explicitly granted. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 base score of 7.1 reflects a network-exploitable path (AV:N), low attack complexity (AC:L), and low-privilege requirement (PR:L). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Upgrade Grav CMS to version 1.10.55 or later, which contains the vendor's fix for the lang parameter path traversal in the admin plugin. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
Recommended ActionAI
Within 24 hours, inventory all Grav CMS deployments and identify instances running versions before 1.10.55; audit administrative accounts with admin.pages.create permission for unusual activity and verify each user's legitimacy. …
