DescriptionCVE.org

The Kirki WordPress plugin before 6.3.0 does not check that a user is allowed to act on a collaboration comment before changing its state, allowing users whom an administrator has granted content-level access to the page builder to modify comments left by other users, including on pages they cannot themselves open.

AnalysisAI

Insufficient per-object authorization in the Kirki WordPress plugin before 6.3.0 allows users with administrator-granted content-level page builder access to alter the state of collaboration comments left by any user, including on pages those users cannot themselves open. The root cause is CWE-639 (Authorization Through User-Controlled Key / IDOR): the comment-state endpoint accepts a user-supplied comment identifier without verifying whether the requesting user holds authorization over that specific comment object. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires all of the following: (1) The target WordPress installation must have the Kirki plugin version 6.0.0-6.2.x installed with the page builder and collaboration comment feature active - this is not a default WordPress feature; (2) An administrator must have explicitly granted the attacker content-level page builder access - this is a deliberate, non-default role assignment made by a site admin; (3) The attacker must hold valid WordPress credentials for that content-level account. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment Real-world risk is low to negligible. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Upgrade to Kirki version 6.3.0 or later, which introduces per-comment authorization checks to remediate the IDOR. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Threat intelligence, references, and detailed analysis are available after sign-in.
