DescriptionCVE.org

Vulnerability in the Helidon product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Imperative Web Server). The supported version that is affected is 3.2.18. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Helidon. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Helidon accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Helidon accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 4.2 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N).

AnalysisAI

Authentication bypass in Oracle Helidon 3.2.18's Imperative Web Server component allows low-privileged network attackers to read a subset of accessible data and perform unauthorized write, insert, or delete operations. Exploitation via HTTP requires high attack complexity and at least low-level authentication, limiting opportunistic mass exploitation. …

Read restricted Helidon data or perform unauthorized write/insert/delete operations

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires an authenticated attacker with at least low-level privileges (PR:L per CVSS vector) - unauthenticated exploitation is not supported by the available data. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 base score of 4.2 (Medium) reflects genuine moderate risk: the attack vector is network (AV:N), but high complexity (AC:H) and low privilege requirement (PR:L) significantly constrain exploitation. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An attacker with a valid low-privilege account in a Helidon-based microservices environment sends a specially crafted HTTP request to the Imperative Web Server that exploits the authentication bypass condition, gaining read access to data or performing write operations on resources they should not be authorized to modify. The high attack complexity suggests the exploit may depend on a specific application state, concurrent request timing, or particular configuration of the web server component, making it harder to reliably replicate but not infeasible for a targeted adversary. …
Remediation Consult Oracle's Critical Patch Update advisory for August 2026 at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html to obtain the patched version of Helidon. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
