DescriptionCVE.org

Vulnerability in the Oracle Coherence product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Core). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0 and 15.1.1.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via TCP to compromise Oracle Coherence. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle Coherence, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle Coherence accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle Coherence accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.3 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N).

AnalysisAI

Unauthorized data compromise in Oracle Coherence (Oracle Fusion Middleware Core component) lets an unauthenticated network attacker read and modify all Coherence-accessible data and impact additional products through a scope change, provided a legitimate user is tricked into a required interaction. It affects supported versions 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0 and 15.1.1.0.0, carries an Oracle CVSS 3.1 base score of 9.3, and has no public exploit identified at time of analysis. Fixes ship in the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update.

Technical ContextAI

Oracle Coherence is a distributed in-memory data grid used within Oracle Fusion Middleware for caching, clustering, and scalable state management behind many enterprise Java (WebLogic/Fusion) deployments. The single CPE cpe:2.3:a:oracle_corporation:oracle_coherence:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:* confirms the affected component is the Coherence application layer (Core). No CWE was assigned by the source, but the supplied tag 'Authentication Bypass' plus the CVSS vector (PR:N with a scope change) points to a flaw that lets untrusted network input reach a trusted processing context - consistent with unsafe handling of attacker-influenced data or requests within the Coherence cluster/TCP listener rather than a memory-safety bug (availability impact is None).

RemediationAI

Apply the Oracle July 2026 Critical Patch Update for the affected Coherence releases - patch available per vendor advisory at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cpujul2026.html; Oracle CPUs deliver version-specific patch sets for each listed release (12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, 15.1.1.0.0), and no separate standalone fix version was specified in the source data, so follow the CPU patch mapping for your exact build. As compensating controls until patched, restrict network reachability of Coherence cluster and management TCP listeners to trusted hosts only via network segmentation/firewall ACLs (trade-off: may break cross-node or client connectivity if ports are shared), and because exploitation requires human interaction, reinforce operator/admin awareness and limit who can be induced to trigger the affected action. Do not expose Coherence ports to untrusted networks or the internet.
