Network-reachable API with low complexity needs only a low-privilege authenticated account (PR:L), and the SQLi-to-file-write yields full RCE, so C/I/A all High; scope unchanged as impact stays on the host.

CentreStack before 17.4 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in GladDBFiles.SearchEx() and SearchExUnder() that allows authenticated attackers to execute arbitrary SQL statements by supplying a crafted x-glad-filter request header through the jsondir API endpoint. Attackers can exploit unsanitized interpolation of the Field parameter directly into SQL query strings to write arbitrary files to the server filesystem via PostgreSQL lo_from_bytea() and lo_export() functions, enabling remote code execution.
AnalysisAI
SQL injection leading to remote code execution in Gladinet CentreStack before 17.4 lets authenticated users inject arbitrary SQL through the x-glad-filter HTTP header handled by the jsondir API endpoint. Because the injected query runs on the PostgreSQL backend, attackers chain lo_from_bytea() and lo_export() to write arbitrary files onto the server filesystem, converting a database flaw into full code execution. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires a valid authenticated CentreStack session (CVSS PR:L - a low-privilege account suffices, not admin) and network reachability to the jsondir API endpoint. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H, base 8.7) reflects a network-reachable, low-complexity attack that requires only low-privilege authentication (PR:L) and no user interaction, with high confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact on the vulnerable system - consistent with a SQLi-to-RCE chain. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | An attacker who has obtained any valid low-privilege CentreStack account sends a request to the jsondir API endpoint with a crafted x-glad-filter header that injects SQL into the Field parameter. They chain PostgreSQL lo_from_bytea() and lo_export() to write a malicious file (e.g., a web shell) to a filesystem location the server executes, achieving remote code execution. … |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: upgrade to CentreStack 17.4, which resolves the SQL injection in GladDBFiles.SearchEx() and SearchExUnder(); this is the primary and authoritative fix, referenced via the VulnCheck advisory (https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/centrestack-sql-injection-via-x-glad-filter-header) and the Gladinet site (https://www.centrestack.com/). … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
