| Exploitation Conditions | Exploitation requires a multi-tenant deployment in which the Strands Agents A2A server (the multiagent.a2a module) is reachable by more than one user or tenant - single-tenant or single-user deployments are not exposed. The attacker must be an authenticated remote caller (CVSS PR:L) and must send HTTP requests to the A2A endpoint referencing a context_id other than their own; the server's failure to isolate conversation state per context_id then grants cross-tenant read and persistent-instruction write. The only effective limiting factor until patching is deployment topology: the vendor states there is no workaround that fully addresses the issue, and recommends not exposing an A2A server to more than one tenant, or running a separate A2A server instance per user/tenant. Upgrading to strands-agents 1.43.0 (Python) or @strands-agents/sdk 1.5.0 (TypeScript) is the only complete fix. |
| Impact | Multiple signals converge on a genuine but conditional priority. The input CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H) scores 8.6 and the vendor GHSA's own CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N) scores 8.1 - both agree the flaw is network-reachable, low-complexity, and requires only low privileges (an authenticated but ordinary caller, PR:L), with high confidentiality and integrity impact and no availability impact. The vuln.today decision label is 'this_week', consistent with a serious issue that is not an active-exploitation emergency. There is no CISA KEV listing and no EPSS score in the input, and no exploit code is referenced, so exploitation status is 'no public exploit identified at time of analysis'. The key limiting factor that tempers the high score: per the vendor advisory, impact only materializes in multi-tenant deployments where the A2A server is reachable by more than one user or tenant - a single-tenant deployment is not exposed. This is a real priority for organizations running the Strands A2A server in a shared/multi-tenant mode, but lower real-world risk for single-user deployments. The input 4.0 score (8.6) and vendor 3.1 score (8.1) differ as expected between frameworks; both reflect the same C:H/I:H/A:N, PR:L profile. |
| Exploit ScenarioDerived | In a multi-tenant deployment of the Strands Agents A2A server, an authenticated user issues HTTP requests to the A2A endpoint using a context_id belonging to another tenant. Because conversation state is not isolated per context_id, the attacker reads the victim tenant's conversation history and injects persistent instructions that alter the model's behavior for that tenant's subsequent requests. No public exploit code is identified, but the technique is straightforward given low attack complexity and only low-privilege authentication. |

Alert meAnalysisAIv2 – Oct 22, 2026
Cross-tenant conversation-state leakage in the Strands Agents SDK A2A server allows an authenticated remote caller in a multi-tenant deployment to read other tenants' conversation history and plant persistent instructions that alter model behavior for subsequent callers by referencing a different context_id. Python strands-agents before 1.43.0 and TypeScript @strands-agents/sdk before 1.5.0 are affected; single-tenant or single-user deployments are not exposed. No public exploit was identified at time of analysis, and fixes are available in 1.43.0 and 1.5.0.
Earlier versions of this analysis (1)
The Agent2Agent (A2A) server component shipped in Amazon Strands Agents SDK does not isolate conversation state per caller, so an authenticated remote user in a multi-tenant deployment can read other tenants' conversation history and inject persistent instructions that change model behavior for subsequent callers by sending HTTP requests to the A2A endpoint with a different context_id. Affected releases are Python strands-agents below 1.43.0 (any version containing the multiagent.a2a module) and TypeScript @strands-agents/sdk below 1.5.0, with high confidentiality and integrity impact but no availability impact (CVSS 8.1). Exposure is limited to deployments where one A2A server is reachable by more than one user or tenant; no public exploit code has been identified at time of analysis, and the only complete fix is upgrading to strands-agents 1.43.0 or @strands-agents/sdk 1.5.0.
RemediationAI
Upgrade Python deployments to strands-agents 1.43.0 (https://pypi.org/project/strands-agents/1.43.0/) and TypeScript deployments to @strands-agents/sdk 1.5.0 (https://www.npmjs.com/package/@strands-agents/sdk/v/1.5.0); these releases add per-context_id isolation via an agent factory. The vendor states there is no workaround that fully addresses the issue in affected versions, so until upgrading, do not expose an A2A server to more than one user or tenant, and if multiple callers need access, run a separate A2A server instance for each user or tenant. Technical ContextAI · show details
The Strands Agents SDK exposes an Agent2Agent (A2A) server in its multiagent.a2a module, and the flaw is CWE-488 (Exposure of Data Element to Wrong Session). The server failed to isolate conversation state per A2A context_id, so an authenticated remote caller (CVSS PR:L) able to send HTTP requests to the A2A endpoint could reference a context_id other than their own and obtain cross-tenant read access to history plus the ability to add persistent instructions influencing later callers. Exposure is conditional on a multi-tenant deployment where the A2A server is reachable by more than one user or tenant; the advisory says single-tenant or single-user deployments are not exposed. The fixed releases introduce an agent factory so conversation state is isolated per A2A context_id.

3DescriptionCVE.org
The A2A server component in Amazon Strands Agents SDK for Python before 1.43.0 and Amazon Strands Agents SDK for TypeScript before 1.5.0 does not properly isolate conversation state between callers. An authenticated remote user could read other tenants' conversation history and add persistent instructions that alter model behavior for subsequent callers via HTTP requests to the A2A endpoint using a different context_id.
To mitigate this issue, users should upgrade to strands-agents 1.43.0 (Python) or @strands-agents/sdk 1.5.0 (TypeScript).
Executive ViewAI
The Strands Agents SDK A2A server contains a high-severity cross-tenant conversation-state leakage vulnerability (CVE-2026-115419) that could allow an authenticated user in multi-tenant deployments to access other customers' conversation histories and inject persistent instructions that alter AI model behavior for subsequent users. This poses a significant risk to customer data confidentiality and the integrity of AI-driven interactions, undermining trust and potentially leading to regulatory and reputational consequences. Leadership should prioritize remediation to protect multi-tenant customers and maintain service integrity.
