DescriptionNVD

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amdgpu: add error handle to avoid out-of-bounds

if the sdma_v4_0_irq_id_to_seq return -EINVAL, the process should be stop to avoid out-of-bounds read, so directly return -EINVAL.

AnalysisAI

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: add error handle to avoid out-of-bounds if the sdma_v4_0_irq_id_to_seq return -EINVAL, the process should be stop to. Rated high severity (CVSS 7.1), this vulnerability is low attack complexity. This Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability could allow attackers to read data from memory outside the intended buffer boundaries.

Technical ContextAI

This vulnerability is classified as Out-of-bounds Read (CWE-125), which allows attackers to read data from memory outside the intended buffer boundaries. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: add error handle to avoid out-of-bounds if the sdma_v4_0_irq_id_to_seq return -EINVAL, the process should be stop to avoid out-of-bounds read, so directly return -EINVAL. Affected products include: Linux Linux Kernel.

RemediationAI

A vendor patch is available. Apply the latest security update as soon as possible. Validate array indices and buffer lengths. Use memory-safe languages. Enable AddressSanitizer during testing.
