1DescriptionCVE.org
Another “uninitialized variable” code execution vulnerability exists in the Rockwell Automation Arena® that could allow a threat actor to craft a DOE file and force the software to access a variable prior to it being initialized. If exploited, a threat actor could leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code. To exploit this vulnerability, a legitimate user must execute the malicious code crafted by the threat actor.
AnalysisAI
Another “uninitialized variable” code execution vulnerability exists in the Rockwell Automation Arena® that could allow a threat actor to craft a DOE file and force the software to access a variable. Rated high severity (CVSS 8.5), this vulnerability is no authentication required, low attack complexity. No vendor patch available.
Technical ContextAI
This vulnerability is classified as Use of Uninitialized Resource (CWE-908), which allows attackers to access uninitialized memory causing crashes or information disclosure. Affected products include: Rockwellautomation Arena.
RemediationAI
No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Initialize all variables, use compiler warnings for uninitialized access, use memory-safe languages.
