DescriptionNVD

An exploitable memory corruption vulnerability exists in AMD ATIDXX64.DLL driver, versions 25.20.15031.5004 and 25.20.15031.9002. A specially crafted pixel shader can cause an out-of-bounds memory write. An attacker can provide a specially crafted shader file to trigger this vulnerability. This vulnerability can be triggered from VMware guest, affecting VMware host.

AnalysisAI

An exploitable memory corruption vulnerability exists in AMD ATIDXX64.DLL driver, versions 25.20.15031.5004 and 25.20.15031.9002. Rated critical severity (CVSS 10.0), this vulnerability is remotely exploitable, no authentication required, low attack complexity. No vendor patch available.

Technical ContextAI

This vulnerability is classified as Out-of-bounds Write (CWE-787), which allows attackers to write data beyond allocated buffer boundaries leading to code execution or crashes. Affected products include: Amd Radeon Rx 550 Firmware, Amd Radeon 550 Firmware, Amd Radeon Rx 550X Firmware.

RemediationAI

No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Validate write boundaries, use memory-safe languages, enable compiler protections (ASLR, stack canaries).
