DescriptionCVE.org

Faleemi Desktop Software 1.8.2 contains a local buffer overflow vulnerability in the Device alias field that allows local attackers to trigger a structured exception handler (SEH) overwrite. Attackers can craft a malicious payload and paste it into the Device alias field within the Managing Log interface to execute arbitrary code with calculator proof-of-concept execution.

AnalysisAI

Faleemi Desktop Software 1.8.2 contains a local buffer overflow vulnerability in the Device alias field that allows local attackers to trigger a structured exception handler (SEH) overwrite. Rated high severity (CVSS 8.6), this vulnerability is no authentication required, low attack complexity. Public exploit code available and no vendor patch available.

Technical ContextAI

This vulnerability is classified as Buffer Copy without Size Check (CWE-120), which allows attackers to overflow a buffer to corrupt adjacent memory. Affected products include: Faleemi Faleemi Desktop Software.

RemediationAI

No vendor patch is available at time of analysis. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Always validate buffer sizes before copy operations. Use bounded functions (strncpy, snprintf). Enable compiler protections.
