An improper authorization check in Apache DolphinScheduler allows an authenticated user to use the batch-copy and batch-move endpoints to operate on workflows in projects for which they lack the required permissions. This may allow the user to copy or move workflows from unauthorized projects.
This issue affects Apache DolphinScheduler: before 3.4.3.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.4.3, which fixes the issue.
AnalysisAI
Improper authorization in Apache DolphinScheduler before 3.4.3 allows an authenticated user to copy or move workflow definitions across project boundaries through the batch-copy and batch-move endpoints, which omit the project-level permission check. Exploitation requires a valid account on the instance with access to at least one project but without the required permissions on the targeted projects, and the effect is limited to low confidentiality and integrity impact (cross-project workflow manipulation) with no availability or code-execution impact; there is no public exploit identified at time of analysis and no confirmed active exploitation. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Requires a valid authenticated account on the DolphinScheduler instance with access to at least one project, but WITHOUT the required permissions on the target projects. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | This is an authenticated, cross-project authorization flaw (CWE-863) in Apache DolphinScheduler's batch-copy and batch-move workflow endpoints, and the aggregate signals point to a LOW-to-MEDIUM real-world priority rather than an urgent one. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Apply the vendor-released patch by upgrading to Apache DolphinScheduler 3.4.3, which the advisory https://lists.apache.org/thread.html/ksnowtbpd9t4mbtvvq2c9777j42784dv identifies as the fix; this is the primary and cleanest action and should be prioritized on any multi-tenant deployment where project isolation is a security requirement. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
