3DescriptionCVE.org
OS command injection in the advanced-rule parser of ConfigServer Security & Firewall allows a remote attacker who controls a configured allow/deny feed to execute arbitrary commands as root, due to insufficient validation of feed-supplied rule data.
The vulnerability affects versions of the software originally distributed by ConfigServer, as well as versions of the WebPros-maintained fork that contain the vulnerable code. WebPros has addressed the vulnerability in version 16.30. Other forks or independently maintained versions of ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) may also be affected and should be evaluated independently.
AnalysisAI
Root-level OS command injection in ConfigServer Security & Firewall (CSF) lets a remote attacker who controls a configured allow/deny feed inject arbitrary shell commands through the advanced-rule parser, which executes them as root. The affected code exists both in the original ConfigServer distribution and in the WebPros-maintained fork; WebPros fixed it in version 16.30. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI
| Exploitation | Exploitation requires that the target has configured CSF to consume an external allow/deny rule feed and that the attacker controls or can tamper with the content of that feed - this is the AT:P attack requirement in the CVSS 4.0 vector. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment. |
| Risk Assessment | The CVSS 4.0 vector (AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N, VC/VI/VA:H, SC/SI/SA:H) scores 9.5 and reflects unauthenticated network reach with full root-level confidentiality, integrity and availability impact including subsequent-system compromise. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in. |
| Exploit Scenario | Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in. |
| Remediation | Vendor-released patch: WebPros CSF 16.30 - upgrade affected WebPros/cPanel installations to 16.30 or later per the cPanel security release at https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/43387923160343-Security-CVE-2026-65639-CSF-Security-Release. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report. |
