DescriptionCVE.org

In versions below 2.1.9 of the AWS IAM app for Splunk SOAR, a user who holds a role with permission to run actions could expose sensitive AWS credentials by invoking an action that accepts the credentials parameter, because the parameter is not masked and is shown in cleartext in the user interface. The information disclosure is possible because the app does not mark the affected action parameter as a password. For more information see Run an action in Splunk SOAR (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-soar/soar-on-premises/use-splunk-soar-on-premises/8.6.0/use-the-command-line-interface-to-perform-tasks-in-splunk-soar-on-premises/run-an-action-in-splunk-soar-on-premises).

AnalysisAI

Credential exposure in the AWS IAM App for Splunk SOAR (all versions below 2.1.9) enables any authenticated user holding a role with action-execution permission to view AWS credentials in cleartext directly within the Splunk SOAR user interface. The root cause is the app's failure to designate the credentials action parameter as a password type field (CWE-312), causing the SOAR platform to render it unmasked rather than redacted. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation Exploitation requires a valid Splunk SOAR user account with a role that has been explicitly granted the permission to run actions - this is a configurable SOAR role capability, not a default for all users. … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 base score of 4.3 (Medium), vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N, is mechanically accurate for the direct disclosure but structurally underweights real-world risk because C:L measures only the immediate parameter-level exposure, not the consequence of those credentials being used to access AWS infrastructure. … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario An authenticated Splunk SOAR operator with a role that includes action-execution permission invokes an AWS IAM App action that accepts a credentials parameter, supplying AWS access keys to authenticate the action against the cloud environment. Because the parameter is rendered in cleartext, the credential values appear visibly in the SOAR action UI, where the operator - or a co-worker sharing the session or viewing audit logs - can read and record them without any additional exploitation step. …
Remediation Upgrade the AWS IAM App for Splunk SOAR to version 2.1.9 or later, which is the vendor-confirmed patched release per advisory SVD-2026-0806 at https://advisory.splunk.com/advisories/SVD-2026-0806. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.
