AnalysisAI

Remote authentication bypass in Oracle WebCenter Content (Content Server component) versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 allows unauthenticated network attackers to gain unauthorized access to all content managed by the platform and perform limited data modification, provided a victim user interacts with attacker-controlled material. The Oracle August 2026 CPU advisory confirms both supported release trains are affected. …

Vulnerability AssessmentAI

Exploitation The attacker must be able to send HTTP requests to the Oracle WebCenter Content server's network address, and a victim user must interact with attacker-controlled content or a crafted link (UI:R is mandatory - fully automated exploitation is not possible). … Additional conditions and limiting factors are described in the full assessment.
Risk Assessment The CVSS 3.1 score of 7.1 reflects a meaningful but not maximum severity: confidentiality impact is high (C:H), integrity impact is low (I:L), and availability is unaffected (A:N). … Full risk analysis with EPSS, KEV, and SSVC signal comparison available after sign-in.
Exploit Scenario Full exploit scenario with step-by-step reproduction available after sign-in.
Remediation Apply the Oracle August 2026 Critical Security Patch Update (CPU), available at https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/cspuaug2026.html, which is the vendor-confirmed fix for CVE-2026-61288 in Oracle WebCenter Content 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0; no exact patched build number is specified in the available advisory data beyond this CPU cycle. … Detailed patch versions, workarounds, and compensating controls in full report.

Recommended ActionAI

Within 24 hours: identify all Content Server instances running versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0 and restrict network access from untrusted segments; review access logs for anomalous authentication or data retrieval patterns. …
