Exploitation Conditions

Exploitation requires an authenticated account on the target Easy!Appointments instance (CVSS PR:L) and access to the customers search endpoint, which returns appointment hashes of other users beyond the caller's authorization scope; possession of a leaked hash is the concrete prerequisite for the follow-on modify/delete actions. Limiting factors: the attacker must first obtain valid credentials or self-register, so instances that disable public account creation or restrict the search endpoint to trusted staff materially reduce risk; no user interaction is needed and the network attack vector means any reachable authenticated user can attempt it. Affected configuration is default behavior of version 1.5.2 - no special non-default feature toggle is required beyond having an account.

Impact

The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:N, base 7.1) signals a network-reachable, low-complexity attack that requires only a low-privileged authenticated account and no user interaction, with limited confidentiality loss but high integrity impact - consistent with the description in which a leaked hash enables tampering with other providers' bookings. No EPSS score, KEV entry, POC, or SSVC decision data was provided, so exploitation probability cannot be quantified from the input; the absence of a KEV listing means there is no confirmation of active exploitation. This is a genuine multi-tenant authorization weakness rather than an inflated high-CVSS issue, but it is gated behind having a valid application account, which limits the realistic attacker population to registered users (e.g., customers or staff on a shared instance). Note the vector omits availability impact even though deleting others' appointments is arguably an availability harm to those victims - defenders may reasonably treat the integrity/availability blast radius as broader than A:N implies.

Exploit ScenarioDerived

A registered low-privileged user on a shared Easy!Appointments 1.5.2 instance calls the customers search endpoint and receives appointment hashes belonging to other users and providers in the response. Reusing those hashes against the appointment modify/delete functions, the attacker reschedules or cancels bookings they do not own, disrupting other providers' schedules. No public exploit code is known, and the attack requires only an authenticated session with low complexity and no user interaction.

AnalysisAIv1 – Jul 14, 2026

Broken object-level authorization in Easy!Appointments 1.5.2 lets any authenticated user query the customers search endpoint to harvest the appointment hash tokens of other users and providers. Because these hashes act as the access control for appointment operations, an attacker can then edit or delete appointments they do not own, achieving a full Appointments Takeover across other providers. No public exploit identified at time of analysis; the flaw is fixed in version 1.6.0.

RemediationAI

Vendor-released patch: upgrade to Easy!Appointments 1.6.0, which fixes the excessive data exposure in the customers search endpoint per advisory GHSA-4vmm-5qvc-w5p7 (https://github.com/alextselegidis/easyappointments/security/advisories/GHSA-4vmm-5qvc-w5p7). If an immediate upgrade is not possible, reduce exposure by restricting who holds authenticated accounts on the instance and by placing the customers search endpoint behind additional access controls or a reverse-proxy allowlist so untrusted or self-registered users cannot reach it; on multi-tenant deployments consider disabling public/self-service account creation until patched. These controls narrow the attacker pool but do not remove the underlying object-level authorization flaw, so upgrading remains the only complete fix.

Technical ContextAI · show details

Easy!Appointments is a PHP/MySQL self-hosted booking platform (CPE cpe:2.3:a:alextselegidis:easyappointments) where each appointment is referenced by a per-record hash that also functions as a capability token for viewing, rescheduling, or cancelling that booking. The root cause is CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information to an Unauthorized Actor): the customers search endpoint returns more object fields than the requesting user is entitled to, leaking the appointment hashes of unrelated users. Since the application trusts possession of the hash rather than verifying the caller's ownership of the appointment, an information-disclosure bug escalates into an integrity problem - the leaked identifier is directly reusable against the appointment modify/delete flows.

DescriptionCVE.org

Easy!Appointments is a self hosted appointment scheduler. In version 1.5.2, an Excessive Data Exposure vulnerability in the customers search endpoint allows an authenticated user to obtain appointment hashes belonging to other users. Using these hashes, an attacker can modify or delete appointments of other providers, resulting in an Appointments Takeover. Version 1.6.0 fixes the issue.

Executive ViewAI

Why It Matters

Easy!Appointments 1.5.2 allows authenticated users to access and modify appointment records belonging to other providers and customers, undermining data integrity across multi-provider operations. No public exploit identified at time of analysis. Organizations using this version face the risk of unauthorized appointment modifications, disrupted service continuity, and potential damage to customer trust.

Business Impact: High
Compensating Controls

Apply vendor patch. Upgrade to Easy!Appointments version 1.6.0 or later. Pending upgrade, restrict access to the customers search endpoint to essential staff and implement enhanced monitoring of appointment modifications.
