Local file inclusion in the Axiomthemes Crafti WordPress theme (versions up to and including 1.12) allows remote unauthenticated attackers to coerce the PHP runtime into including arbitrary local files through improperly validated include/require parameters. Successful exploitation can lead to disclosure of sensitive server-side files, configuration data, and under certain conditions code execution via included content. No public exploit identified at time of analysis, but the issue is catalogued by Patchstack in their WordPress vulnerability database.

DescriptionCVE.org
Improper Control of Filename for Include/Require Statement in PHP Program ('PHP Remote File Inclusion') vulnerability in Axiomthemes Crafti allows PHP Local File Inclusion.
This issue affects Crafti: from n/a through 1.12.
Executive ViewAI
The Axiomthemes Crafti WordPress theme (versions through 1.12) contains a local file inclusion vulnerability allowing unauthenticated remote attackers to access sensitive configuration files and potentially execute code on affected websites. Organizations using this theme face immediate risk of data exposure including database credentials, with no vendor-supplied patch currently available.
24 hours: Audit all WordPress installations to identify Crafti theme usage and current versions; assess business criticality of affected sites. 7 days: Deploy WAF rules blocking local file inclusion patterns; restrict web server file access permissions on sensitive configuration files; disable theme on non-critical sites. 30 days: Monitor vendor and Patchstack channels for patched version availability; develop and execute theme migration plan to alternative WordPress themes if patch remains unavailable.
No vendor-released patch identified at time of analysis. Interim mitigations: (1) Deploy WAF rules to block include/require parameter manipulation and common LFI payloads; (2) Restrict web server file access permissions to sensitive configuration files and logs; (3) Implement input validation at web server layer before requests reach WordPress; (4) Disable vulnerable theme on non-critical sites; (5) Enable file access logging and monitoring for exploitation detection; (6) Prepare migration plan to alternative WordPress theme.

Attack Technique
Local File Inclusion vulnerabilities occur when an application accepts user-controlled input to specify which file should be loaded or executed, typically through functions like PHP's `include()`, `require()`, or `fopen()`.
Information disclosure occurs when an application unintentionally exposes sensitive data that aids attackers in reconnaissance or directly compromises security.
